Hi all, my DS is 26 months old and I am 19 weeks along, and definitely starting to show. I'm having a more challenging time getting my son to understand my limitations with rough housing these days and being careful around my tummy. This has made me think more about when to really talk to him about the baby coming. He has no good grasp on the future, so I'm afraid how many times I will hear 'new baby come now?' if he knows about it. If you have toddlers or young children when did you start telling them about the baby on boars?

Re: 2+ time moms, when did you tell your LO?
I'm not concerned. I'll keep talking to her about it and taking care of myself. She'll get it when we bring the new baby home, I suppose.
We've talked with DS a little about a baby coming. I've been really sick and now we've hit some complications and I"m on bed rest so I am really hesitant to talk it up too much with him because I don't want him to "blame" the baby for mommy not being able to get out of bed and play and take care of him.
But he knows we're having a baby and is downright insistent that we're naming it Wyatt if it's a boy and Annie if it's a girl, LOL
And you will probably name the baby Wyatt or Annie lol my older sister named me. My parents actually changed my name at the hospital bc my sister threw a fit and said she would never call me the name my parents chose! So my parents changed my first name but did not give into the mn, well until I was about 3 my sister called my the first And middle name she like instead of my first name and real mn!! I always think how confused I would have been if my parents hadn't changed my first name!
Right away, though he didn't get it at first. We tried not to say too much about it in front of him until we were telling people, but slowly he got it. Now he talks about 'baby mama belly' all the time. We were at the supermarket checking out yesterday and talking about balloons, then randomly he pops out 'baby mama belly.' I said yes, the baby is still in my belly and the cashier/bagger/next person in line all laughed lol.
Maybe not the smartest thing for him to know all along, but I think since he doesn't *really* get it, it wouldn't have been too hard for him to forget it. I dunno though, luckily we didn't have to deal with that.
