Good evening ladies.
Sorry I haven't been able to post much. Im usually mobile bumping and it's a pain.
Today around 12 noon, I felt myself leaking. Because it was continuous I decided to come to labor and delivery. By the time I reached the hospital, my water
broke and there felt like a flood coming from me. I have dilated 3cm but the contractions have been mild. The doctor says I will be staying until I have my baby boy. Luckily, the ultrasound showed he is measuring almost 3 weeks ahead at 30 weeks and 5 days, and that there is still a normal amount of amniotic fluid remaining. I am prayerful these contractions will slow down and he will bake a few more weeks.
All positive thoughts and prayers are welcomed and I pray your babies are nice and snug inside.
Re: Water Broke
It's a girl!
Sending you tons of sticky baby vibes!
I had my DD at 33w5d. The ladies on the preemie board are AMAZING. Head over there if you want to chat with people who understand what you're going through. The NICU is a tough ride, but you can handle it. I have a friend with a 27 weeker and another with a 29 weeker that are both thriving toddlers now.
Best of luck and I hope you can keep your LO cooking as long as possible! Every hour counts.

Update: LO is still baking. I've only had one contraction today and only have a slow leak, so things are looking up. The high risk OB says she wants him to stay in until Im 34 weeks unless I get an infection, I go into labor myself, or he's in distress. Thankfully, all is well at this time. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers.

That was the plan with me, too, but I went into labor.
By 34w the suck/swallow/breathe reflex is pretty much in place and LO is mainly just a 'feeder and grower'. I'm assuming they gave you the steroid shots for his lungs? I'm so glad that your contrax slowed down! Keep cookin', LO!

They were going to give me steroid shots every 12 hours but because I am no longer in active labor they are doing it every 24 hours. I am prayerful that the contractions will stay away; his heart rate dips with every contraction. I am so glad to see your little preemie is no longer a little preemie!

Good! You only get 2 steroid shots to help with the surfactant in his lungs. They're supposed to be 24 hours apart, so that's great that you can get them spaced like that! I only got 1 and then had DD a few hours later, so it didn't really help, but luckily her breathing was okay. They really are proven to help, so even if you have him early, his breathing will be much better off.
Again, post on the preemie board if you'd like some support. Many women there have been in the same place as you and it's nice to be around people who know exactly what you're feeling. GL!!
