I have a Graco snugride 30, and it has three handle positions: All the way back, the carrying position, and one position in between the two. What is the middle one's purpose?? I mean, you can't carry it like that when your baby is in it, so what's the point? Seriously, does anyone know?

Re: XP: Car seat handle positions
I have a Chicco Keyfit 30 but it has the same positions. The middle position is labeled as the "storage" position in my manual, which makes sense since up or all the way back just increases bulk when you are ready to store the thing until your (potential) next baby.
I use the middle handle positions when I have the carseat in the snap and go stroller so I can see/reach the baby easier.
I use that middle one when it's in the car. The handle should not be in front of the baby when they are in the car.
Not true... each car seat has different instructions as to how they should be in the car.... most are supposed to be "up" while in the car. I am pretty sure that the Snugride can be in any position in the car.
To the OP, yea, that handle position does seem pointless!
