XP: Kindercare rates

does anyone know how Kindercare rates work? THe one in my town does not publish its rates.. and they are a little secretive about them. I asked a few months ago.. then again recently and they gave me a different (lower) rate. I want to sign up at the lowest rate possible, so I don't know if there are any tricks or strategies?

thanks

Re: XP: Kindercare rates

  • We went in and they quoted us $125 for 3 days per week for the infant room.  That is for my area.

  • Ask them straight out how their rates work and what types of discounts they offer. Most daycares don't publicize rates online or even in their brochures, but it's annoying when they are inconsistent seeming in price.

  • How old is your kid? Maybe what they quoted you now is for a different age group than what they gave you a few months ago.

  • Kindercare prices actually just went down a little so that seems accurate if you had gotten a lower price.  I live in a HCOL area.  Right now DD goes 3 days. She was 2 in September. I pay $175 for the part time days (5 hours or less) and I think it was $239 when she went full time days.  They are the most expensive I've found in my area but I like their hours/facility/teachers so it's worth it.  And like PP said, the age groups once they get out of infant do drop a little in price.  I think it was like 10% difference???

In 3 weeks I'm going to have a toddler and an infant in there.  I don't even know for sure what I'm going to be paying b/c I don't want to cry just yet.

  • thanks for the replies. I do know their rates drop quite a bit when they turn 2: te teacher ration goes from 1:4 to 1:10. I guess when I sign up I'll ask if they can do any better.. and not accept an increase from the quote I received last week.

    2 years- 1 teacher to 5 children

    3 years- 1 teacher to 7 children

    4 years- 1 teacher to 8 children
