Hubby and I got a deep freezer for Christmas, and I'd love to stock it up before March! What are some of your favorite freezable recipes?

Re: Share your Best Freezable Recipes!

  • I haven't tested these out yet but here is my Pinterest Board where I am slowly gathering recipes:

  • With DS#1, I made stuffed shells, muffins, beef stew for the crockpot, chili (just get all the ingredients together in a freezer bag, thaw the night before and put in the crockpot). I was induced for high BP, and I knew the day before, so that night we stocked up on bread, lunch meat, drinks, etc.I hope to get a better start this time around, it was soooo nice not having to worry about making anything.

  • I don't have specific recipes that I can share, but I can share the types of foods that I am freezing.

soups- baked potato soup, butternut squash soup, veggie bisque (I blend it so it is thick and not very chunky)

    spaghetti sauce

    meatballs

stuff shells- Stuffed, but not baked.  I freeze them on a tray then put them in baggies.  When I make them, I defrost them and bake them as though I was making them fresh.

salsa chicken wraps- I make chicken cooked in salsa in the crockpot and shred it.  Then I mix it with more salsa and shredded cheddar cheese.  I wrap them and freeze them on a tray, then put in baggies of 4, which is enough for us for dinner.  I defrost them and bake them for about 10 minutes.

cookie dough- I've frozen chocolate chip cookie dough, oatmeal cookie dough, and snickerdoodles dough.  I scoop the dough and shape in balls and freeze them on a tray.  Then I put in baggies.  When I want to make them, I defrost them on a  cookie sheet and then bake as normal.

    apple cinnamon muffins

Next up, I want to make mini-meatloafs.  I might try that this weekend.

  • I am a huge fan of using the cookbook...Don't Panic Dinner's in the Freezer. I am too cheap to actually buy the cookbook so I found it on google books for free, printed it out and put it all in a binder.

That is a genius idea I've never even heard of that book!
