STM's: How big will the girls get?

Okay Second time moms I need your suggestions and input. I am in a wedding July 20th (Due March 30th) So baby girl will be almost four months. I am very uncertain on what size dress to order. I normally wear a size 2 and was 105 before pregnancy and 5'1. My bra size before was an A 32 and now I am in a B 36!! SO, will be breast grow again? I can't decide if I should order a size 6 dress which is bust 35 or an 8. (I measured myself wearing a very lightly padded nursing bra and cloth pads and I came to be almost 36") I am afraid of going to an 8 because I fear it wont look right everywhere else once it's altered. I will most likely have breastfed twice before the wedding starts so will that even out my breasts and be smaller?

Sorry that was so long.

  • Sorry to say, there is really no way of knowing for sure. This is my third pregnancy and I've never had my boobs change size--not during pregnancy or nursing (except that first week of engorgement, but then they went back to normal).

So you may balloon up, you may stay the same, you may deflate.

I will say I have had to deal with a bridesmaid dress that was a size too small...and it was not pretty.

  • I'm in the same boat, and the wedding is actually the same day.  Since the bride picked a fabric that has zero stretch and is difficult to tailor, I ordered a size 12.  I'm usually a 4. I'm expecting to spend about $100 on alterations. Yuck. My bra size has gone up from 32DD to 34E or F. Double yuck.  I know they're going to get bigger because they started to hurt again, and the milk coming in is going to add to the craziness. I wish I didn't start out so top-heavy! :)

  • It is also really important to remember that bridesmaid and wedding dresses are sized completely differently.  I am a size 10 and for my cousins wedding they ordered me a size 18 and thats when I wasn't pregnant.  Your best bet is to go bigger cause it is easier to take in a dress then let it out.  Go to the store and get measured and see what they recommend.

  • FTM here, but I've gone from barely an A, to a C.  It's crazy!

  • My boobs were huge when my milk came in but then were pretty much their 3rd tri size for awhile before DD1 started solids.  I don't think it's necessarily like that for everyone, but it worked out well for me.

  • I would order the 8. They can tailor it and it won't looks stupid, trust me. It's better to order too big than order too small. I'm small like you and would have no problem fitting in my regular size just 2 weeks after delivering her, but while breastfeeding I went up about a cup size. I dont think that would have caused me to get a bigger size though.

  • With DD1, I was a 34B pre-pg. I got up to a 36F when my milk came in and I was super engorged, but that was up to maybe the first month after she was born. After that my supply regulated. I must have been a 34D by 3-4 months pp and a 34C by the time I was done nursing.

  • I was a 34b pre preg, then once DS was born I got to atleast a DD, then leveled out to a 34c until I weaned at 21 months and began getting a little smaller until my pregnancy hormones started kicking in again.

  • I just wanted to reiterate that there's really no way to predict. I was a B cup before getting pregnant the first time and then grew to a D cup. My mom on the other hand lost her boobs after she had me.

  • I was a C cup before my first pregnancy and got up to a DD cup and then after my son was born I went down to a D cup...so far with this pregnancy I have to stayed a consistant D cup althought some of my bras are getting a little"full" ... I agree though it is hard to say what size you will or will not be...everybody is different.

  • Everyone is different. My SIL never changed sizes. But I have gone from a 32 A to a 36 D. And my cup size is still growing!
