About to pull my hair out!

My LO (8 weeks today)is usually the happiest baby. But this past week, I am noticing a BIG change. He will fuss real bad between 6:30-9:30-10ish each night. Crying so bad, that it sounds like he has a scratchy throat. The only big difference in terms of schedule changes would be daycare. Wednesday, we started sending him to daycare due to me going back to work. This also when i noticed the fussiness hit its peak. I can count on one hand how many hours of sleep I have got in the past 3 days...its awful. I feel so bad for him, I have no idea what to do. The daycare says that he is a super happy baby and only fusses when hungry. I guess he likes to save it all for when he comes home. haha

Any suggestions or tips? I know every baby is different. Some opinions would be nice. Maybe an adjustment to daycare? The only way that i can get his to sleep is if he lays in bed with me. And because I'm afraid I'm going to smash him, I can't sleep. UGH!

Re: About to pull my hair out!

  • I'm so sorry. It's probably just an adjustment period mixed with "the witching hour". A couple of things you might try get LO good and asleep while you're on the couch. Then maybe try putting him down in his crib with a shirt of yours or the case off of your pillow anything that smells like you. You might want to do the heating pad trick too. This way he thinks he's still with you. Just a thought.

Hope you find some rest this weekend!

  • Oh man I'm sorry to hear that! My LO always gets fussy like that at night if she hadn't napped well during the day. We saw it a lot during the holidays when grandparents wanted to interact and talk to her all the time and didn't stick to her routine and encourage naps. Maybe they think your LO is so happy and doesn't Ed the naps? GL!
