Re: yogurt for yeast infection

  • I think yogurt can help, but it has to have live active bactieria in it. Most yogurt you get at the grocery store probably doesn't have active bacteria, so you need to look for that.

If anyone has any more info, or if I'm wrong, please correct me.

  • Greek yogurt usually have the live bacteria so I would eat that. Also, kefir is a good probiotic with live bacteria as well. Feel better!

  • I don't know anything about yogurt, but what meds did you get? If it wasn't Diflucan, ask if you can get Diflucan. Diflucan is the best for yeast infections. If one dose doesn't work, you can repeat the dose. I am immunocompromised and if I get a YI, I have to take Diflucan once a week for 4 weeks. It sucks, but it works! Hope you feel better soon.

  • Thanks ladies! I am using a cream but not sure of the name starts with a L. Anywho I learned something today from a pharamist. There is actual pill form of the active probiodic you can take. Its like a vitiamin. Its called Acidopholis. Its actually better than yogurt bc you would have to eat LOTS of yogurt to even help!
