My RCS went really well! Much better than my first - which was an emergency c-section after my water broke & I labored for 14 hours...baby was in distress & we had to get her out ASAP. It was scary & stressful. Anyhow, this time around I was very rested and my parents were here to watch DD1.
It just went smoothly. I was a little nervous about the procedure, due to my own anxiety issues, but my doctor put me at ease. DD2 was pulled out at 9.55 and by 11am I was breastfeeding her in my room all stitched up.
With the RCS, I had my tubes tied (I'm 37 and feel too old to do this again!) and my recovery has been very good. I bled for a good 5 weeks, but 2 months out I feel really good.
Good luck with yours!

My RCS was just 5 days ago. It went smoothly for what it is! I went in, prepped and in the OR w/in 1.5 hours. The spinal hurt, but just for a few moments. This c/s seemed to have taken longer (to close up) than my first. The weirdest part was the spinal kept me numb for longer then I was with the epi on my first. So I was in recovery longer waiting to move my legs/feet.
I'm still sore, but I'm keeping up on my meds and I'm okay most of the day. Nothing bad to speak of because of the surgery. I was dxd with PP pre-e. (which I didn't have pre-e during the pregnancy at all) so that all sucks, but nothing to do with the c/s.

It went really smoothly. Getting the spinal in was a little more difficult because I knew what it was supposed to be like and I was terrified I would feel something. It only took an extra minute or two.
Just had my RCS 8 days ago, and I couldn't imagine a better experience. My first was an emergency, and I found the spinal terrifying while dealing with contractions. I was worried about how this one would go.
This time, everything was so relaxed. I got to walk into the OR on my own and get up on the table, I could hardly feel the spinal go in, and DS was latched onto my breast within minutes of my leaving the OR. My pain has been well controlled using just naproxen (no drowsiness!).
