When you make your invitations, whatever date you want the RSVPs in, make it a week earlier. I am not kidding. LO's party is January 20. People received their invitations December 20 or 21. We are one of those "invite everyone" families, despite the fact that I would rather have a small, intimate party. Of the approximately 36 invitations I mailed out, I have only heard back from 4 people as of today. I know people were busy with holidays, and I know I still have 2 weeks until the party, but this is insane. I am about to go BSC because I can't plan anything. I don't know if there will be 25 or 100 people there. I honestly wish we were just having immediate family and a cupcake.
Rant over. Go about your day now.
Re: First Birthday Party Advice
I have had the same issues, ours got sent out December 17th or 18th for the party also on January 27th. So far I have had 1 person RSVP out of 40 invites sent. I was getting so frustrated I created a facebook event yesterday for about half the people to be able to RSVP and have already had 6 more respond.
