Lydia is teething REALLY bad right now and it has been going on for weeks. We were visiting the in-laws, and my MIL put some whiskey on Lydia's gums to ease the pain, and I did not stop her. Instantly, the pain was gone and we could make it through dinner without screaming.
ee, we are there too! The 4 first year molars are in completely and now just waiting for the incisors to finish up. I've threatened before but I'm seriously considering day drinking. My FFFC, I'm so glad Christmas break is almost over. DH has been home also because he starts his new job this coming Monday. I want my LYFE BACK!!!! Just me and the girl dammit.
I don't know how to hard boil an egg. I will be 36 years old this month and have no idea how to do it.
As if that weren't bad enough, when I want to feed DS hard boiled eggs (little stinker won't eat them scrambled, which I do know how to do) I buy them pre-made. Yesterday I got them from 7-11.
I am going through Mich's toys this weekend and I am going to be "tossing" a bunch out. Most of them are cheap a$$ things that MIL sent to her for christmas. She sent a huge box of dollar store cheap things that are now broke for the most part.
And then I found out that MIL is on her way here at the end of Jan. :-/ not to sure about that one.

Put the eggs in a pot and cover with cold water and add 3 tbs salt. Bring the water with eggs in it to a boil. Once it reaches boiling turn your timer to 10 minutes. Let the eggs and salt boil for ten minutes. Set the pot in the sink and rinse the eggs with cold water.
Taadaa! Hard boiled eggs! So easy!

Here's where it gets confusing!!
Put eggs in cold water in a pot. Bring to boil on stovetop. Let boil for 12 minutes. Remove eggs and water from heat. Rinse under cold water until eggs are cool.
No salt, and 12 minutes instead of 10. Which makes sense since salt would allow the temperature to get hotter than with just water...

Put them in a box and bring them out the day before--it will seem extra good because they will be somewhat new again and she will play with them more in front of MIL. After that box again or throw.

The reason I add salt is because they peel MUCH easier. Ive made them tons of times just boiling ten minutes without the salt but peeling them is an issue.

I was taught not to boil them. What I do is bring the pot to boiling, and THE MOMENT it starts to boil, I cover the pot and remove from heat. Then I let them stand for 10 minutes. Dumping them into ice water and letting them stand in there is critical since this prevents that gross gray sulphur stuff from forming. I never use salt. Older eggs will also be easier to peel than fresh eggs. So use your freshest eggs for scrambling, baking etc and your older ones to hard-boil.
So, I almost called my mom last week to ask her how to boil an egg. Glad I didn't because now I feel like I know everything there is to know about boiling eggs AND I didn't give my mom a chance to mock me for the rest of eternity. Yay!
Here's another confession: Yesterday, I was about to leave the office when I realized I couldn't find my keys, so I asked a co-worker to give me a ride home. I found my keys. They were in my purse. I was too embarrassed to tell that to my coworker this morning so I made up some lame lie.
Yesterday I wanted my kid just to leave me alone so I could drink coffee in peace. I gave him a small cup and put a squirt of whipped cream in there. He left me alone so well I refilled it. Twice.
At dinner time we went out to a rib place. I never cook ribs and DD asked me if they were dinosaur bones. Sure they are! Whatever it takes to get you to eat your food, kid. Dinosaur bones were a great hit, BTW.
I also don't see any reason to want to boil an egg. I think they are gross.
You are all doing eggs wrong. Because eggs should only be hard boiled if you are dyeing them for Easter. Otherwise, that's just gross.
I confess that I'm having a bizarre sexual issue that arises occasionally since having Joey. I know DH has noticed and just hasn't brought it up. And I just can't bring myself to talk to him about it. Which is ridiculous. This man has seen me rip in half delivering a child and has been dealing with an incision in my butt crack for 5 months. But I can't bring myself to talk to him about it. And I'm too embarrassed to even ask my closest friends if I'm a freak or if this sometimes happens to people after they have a kid. I'm by no means a prude but I can't broach this subject with anyone without wanting to crawl in a hole and die so I'm just ignoring it. Because, you know, that always makes things better.
You should post about it. I'm sure someone here has heard about it, dealt with it, or is going through the same thing. And please don't ignore it, even if it is embarrassing. I read an article saying that almost half of women will have pelvic floor issues relating to pregnancy and childbirth in their lifetime. I have to stay still and do a kegel every time I sneeze, cough, or laugh or I pee myself a bit. I know other women who have gotten fitted for a pessary because of issues.
I know. I need to be a grown up. I just can't. I'm not easily embarrassed at ALL but this just mortifies me. It's not an actual problem or medical issue though. For some people it's always a totally normal part of sex, it's just new to me since having a baby. And I'd actually be okay talking to you guys about it if I wasn't so paranoid about the internet. I use this screenname for all sorts of things so if a friend or relative came across the post, I'd die.
But yeah, I totally have to squeeze everything when I laugh, cough, sneeze anything too
I know DDing is usually frowned upon, but I guarantee no one would come after you if you made a post and the deleted it after. I can come back and delete this too, but does it have anything to do with things being...more open and airy so to speak?

Just to add to the simplicity of it all . . . no salt and 10 minutes works fine for us. Actually less, but I don't like them with the green tint.
ETA: Oops, meant to quote.
