and so it starts! I'm excited and ready to get this on with
something I didn't know that i'm happy about is that with each clomid/iui cycle they will do 2 inseminations. not everyone does that but i'm going to since the sperm seems to be our issue.
Great, hopefully that gives you an even better chance. Did you end up asking any questions? How many injections are you getting? And my weird question is, does Ben go in with you to the doctors or separately? lol How does that work?

I did ask questions - side effects of the clomid, why clomid since I ovulate on my own (even though I kind of knew that answer), success rates of IUIs..that sort of thing.
the one I was most interested to hear about was the success rates. she said most people get pregnant on cycle 3 or 4 of clomid + IUI...or at least thats where the bell curve is, but she said everyones situations are sooo different its really hard to look much into them.
I'm not getting any injections, I'm just taking clomid which is a pill. I think this is because I ovulate on my own.
and Ben went with me to the inital appt. but we haven't been together since then. when he did his SA he went there himself and just dropped it off. When he gives the sample for the insemination I'll most likely go with him and then an hour - an hour and a half after that they'll bring me back for the insemination. they wash the semen after he gives his sample so that they're only injecting the strongest and the healthiest into me.
and he will have to give his sample for the IUI there. he won't be able to do it at home and bring it in...which he said he was fine with, which I though was funny for some reason.
That's really interesting. Its amazing how they have the technology to do all this these days. Does your job know anything or are you able to schedule appointments when you aren't working yet? Also what did the doctor say about the chance of multiples?
work knows nothing about whats going on. I have mostly had morning appointments. they open at 7 and I don't have to be at work until 8:30.
and I make my own schedule for the most part so I can schedule something and get around telling people where I am.
as for multiples she said the chance isn't that likely and because Ben's sperm isn't stellar in the first place, its pretty unlikely.
Gotcha, now you said that you confided in your SIL since she went through infertility as well, is this SIL on H's side the one with Lillian? Did his brother have any issue?
Ben's brother's wife is the SIL I confided in. She is older and I think that was the complication with them but she never told me that. and I didn't tell her that Ben was the issue. While I trust she wouldn't say anything if I asked her not to, I really don't want to put that information out there to family. Ben's brother is her husband and I think my husband would be crushed if his brother knew or if he knew I told SIL that detail. KWIM?
my older sister does know that Ben's semen is the issue.
