Intro--The day I'm finally here!

Well. Mixed emotions here, ladies.

When I first started posting on TB in the middle of last year, I used to read these IFV posts and get a ton of good info and I really liked the chicks on this board. But I thought (maybe "hoped" is the better word) that our IF struggle would come to some kind of resolution before I'd be eligible to be here.

Surprise! Nope!

This last cycle, my second fresh IVF, was, as the French say, "une disastre." (Note: I don't speak French so if they don't really say that, I apologize.)

Start to finish suckiness. We switched my protocol and went from getting a good retrieval, good fertlization and three high-quality blasts to being overstimulated, a canceled cycle and three "fair" embryos on ice.

Oh, also, they ICSI'd our eggs without our consent (or, more accurately, against our expressed wishes). That was the final straw for a clinic where we'd had a lot of small issues over the years (ugh, yes, it's been years) so we're now hunting for a new place.

I'm searching for the energy to get started with new consults, new protocols and doctors and new locations but I haven't yet found it.

The cherry on the sh!t sundae has been that I'm starting a new job (hurray!) where I'll be a manager. While that's awesome, clearly, it means I will have much less freedom to skip out of work for monitoring appointments or to take unscheduled days off for transfers/retrievals/whatevs.

I know this into has just been a ray of sunshine into your life, so I apologize for that, and I hope you'll have me here on this board. Though I'm about as fun as the SAT right now, I have been funny in the past and I hope to return to that state soon. Thanks for listening and see you on the boards...

You are very funny and I did pretty good on my SAT (I'm not scared!) so I say...Welcome Scoop! Just like you I lurked here for all the good info but hoped I'd move over to PAIF asap and never be "qualified" to post here.

If an infertile woman on IVF drugs is driving in a car toward her clinic, which is 90 miles away, at 60 mph and her husband is driving in another car toward the same clinic at 70 mph, at what point in the journey will the woman pull over, start crying, then call her husband up and yell at him for forgetting to put the garage door down?

Hey Scoop.. sorry you are finding yourself over here too.... but its a great place to pour out our hearts and know that everyone understands. I too lurked for a very long time. I've commented before on your sense of humor... you always brought a smile to my face! I'm sure you wittiness will bring much sunlight to this board! Hopefully your stay will be short!
