Great pick-up for post-partum recovery!!

At the dollar store, I saw this and thought, "This would be great for icing down-there after labor!" I don't know about you, but having a mushy, watery pad in my pants doesn't seem to fun. These are the perfect size for panties, won't leak, and are resuable (don't have to worry about making more for future use like padsicles)! I bought two so when one is no longer cold, I can go to the other one. And they only cost a dollar each, not $2.50 for a pack of pads.

Just thought I'd pass this on!

Sorry - it's a gel ice pack for the wrist!

The white strap part is used to wrap around the wrist. I found this image on a karate equipment website, but this is the exact one I bought.

Here's the website that sells the ice pack. They sell it for $2.50 and I'm sure there's a bunch of shipping, so I'm not sure the cost may be worth for some of you. But it sure pays for itself in terms of convinience!

My understanding is that there is quite a bit of bleeding post-birth. Wouldn't these get, like, bloody? And ruined?

we already have a bunch and I never would have thought to use them. With a washable slipcover and some sanitizing it seems like a good reusable option

I didn't factor in the blood loss!

Could it be put in between the pad and panties? Not sure if the cold, theraputic effects would be as strong then, but a bloody, melting pad doesn't sound like the best way to recoop. But I'm a FTM and we'll see how things really go.

it's not something I'd personally use on the regular, but they do make cloth menstrual pads, you shouldn't have just ice-skin contact anyway, there should be a barrier of some sort, those might be just enough of a barrier to absorb grossness but not inhibit the cold therapy.

I didn't use anything frozen after I left the hospital I just used Tucks pads on top of my pad and they worked fine I don't think I would have tried something like this nor do I think I would this time around but if you wanna try it let us know how it works you may be on to something.

So are Tucks wet? Or do you get them wet to activate the witch hazel?

Yes Tucks are wet they are kinda like tiny baby wipes. I can post a link later I'm on my phone atm. or I'm sure they are on Amazon or something just search for Tucks Medicatied Wipes.

Oh and for what its worth I had a tear after delivery not a bad one per say but it went upwards not towards the anus like most people I know about and have read about on the bump.It's TMI but it was about 2 weeks before I could pee without crying even with a peri bottle and everything it. I found it nearly impossible to not pee on my stitches so these Tucks pads were the only thing that helped after I went.

The hospital provided me the tucks pads. They also had ice packs that you break the inside to activate that were disposable. They also provided the pads and disposable underwear and numbing spray for down there. I took everything home because the nurse told me they just throw everything away. I still have a lot left from #1.
