Best BFF ever!

I complain about my best friend a lot. She and I have been friends since midway through kindergarten...I don't use the term BFF lightly. She comes with many of the same issues you fund in anyone you've known most of your life but she is loyal. To death. Here's a text she sent my sister that my sister sent to me. My sister thinks it further proves her point somehow.

Sarah: Wait, did I miss something? Is someone that you dearly love critically ill or dying right now? I am sorry that you are upset, but to carry on as extensively as you have done is an enigma to me. You have so many wonderful, beautiful blessings in your life. Both of your parents are alive and in contact with you, you have three gorgeous, healthy children and a loving husband who is able to support your family so that you can stay home. Do I have any of those things? No. Nor do I have any "family" in the city. I truly am sorry that you are upset, and I do understand your disappointment, but for you to carry on in this way is not something that I can relate to or support. And from my perspective, it's offensive. What I do choose to support is Joy and Haydn, some of the most kind and generous people I have ever known. I am proud of them for making such a brave decision, and I am thrilled that they will have the chance to continue growing as a family in such an exciting city. I love you dearly, Rachael, but you need to get a better handle on this.

  • Yay for great friends! It is even better that your own sister sent this to you as a forward instead of your friend sending it herself to you. Again, I'm sorry that you are going through such a mess with your family, and I hope you have a fantastic move!

  • What a great friend! Your sister must be a bit dense to think it proves her point.

  • She thinks it proves her point because she has no family and doesn't understand. Plus our parents could die and if they do, it will be from stress.
