  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?

Coming up on 26 weeks, a large cauliflower.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

Even after a mess of a day where I ended up having to drink the sugar stuff twice, I passed my 1 hour GTT the day after Christmas! I was really surprised. I was sure I was going to have to do the 3 hour since I had GD with Patricia, but since she was born I have worked really hard to eat right and walk everyday and I guess it paid off! But I'm reminding myself that it's not a free-for-all, I only passed because of my behavioral changes so I have to keep them up!

We have our first BPP and NST a week from Monday. We'll be doing them weekly from then on. It was totally surreal to schedule appointments through her birthday!

QOTW: Did you make a new year resolution?

Just to keep being as healthy as I can for myself and baby girl.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

I don't want to undecorate but I know I have to this weekend. I can't leave the tree up because I want to put our swing there Smile

  • How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?

I am 31 weeks 5 days and I am a pineapple turning into a squash.  I really think that this kid is huge, so I think that my fruits might be a little off :)

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

I hit my loss milestone on Wednesday.  I went into labor with Avery at 31 weeks 3 days.  It blows my mind that Blake is older now than she ever was and that I am somehow more pregnant than I was with her.  I keep convincing myself that I am going into labor any day now, even though there is no reason to believe that I will go early with him.

QOTW: Did you make a new year resolution?

My resolution is to save money and stick to a budget.  Also along those lines, I want to stop wasting food.  I am trying really hard to fit any fresh produce into our meals before it goes bad, buy in bulk to save money, freeze any unused portions, etc.  My delayed new years resolution (not until March obviously) is to get back to a healthy weight so that I can feel like myself again.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

I have a shower coming up next weekend and I am anxious to see what we get so that I can have an idea of what we still need to buy.  My insurance covers up to $200 of a breast pump, but the catch is that  you have to order it through a medical supplier.  They have made this absolutely impossible to do because all of their suppliers do not carry pumps. I am determined to get this deal, but it makes me mad that they make it so difficult to follow through with.  I feel like they do it on purpose so that people are less likely to use their benefits.

This is so irritating! I am supposed to have coverage as well but haven't looked into exactly what I can get and how soon I can get it. I hope you can find a way to get what you deserve! Have you checked to see if any of the hospitals in your area would be considered in-network DME suppliers?

I called the hospital that I am delivering at yesterday and they only sell pumps through their gift shop (ie:they can't bill your insurance)  I will try the others in my area this weekend.  I wish they would just mail me a $200 voucher and let me go to babies r us this weekend.  They have to make everything so difficuilt!

  • Hi Ladies,

I know it has been a little while since I have done a check-in. I hope everyone is doing well.

How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?

    I am 21 weeks 4 days, so a pomegranate.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

I have a regular OB appointment next Thursday.

QOTW: Did you make a new year resolution?

No New Year's Resolution for me. My focus right now is on having a healthy baby, grieving my son, and completing my papers for my National Board certification.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

I am happy to be feeling baby girl moving more and more. I have started to change some things in the nursery to get it ready for her. I know I have a lot of time, but I feel like it is something I need to slowly do to help prepare for her. My husband still seems very reluctant to do anything to prepare for the baby. However, we did buy a different dresser last week which was his suggestion. That seemed like a big step.

I am also thinking about Braxton and what his personality would be like right now. Some of our best friends have a 9 month old and seeing his personality develop is really special, but it makes me think even more about what we are missing with our son.

Here is a quote that really sums up what I've been feeling lately (I posted it on PgaL too). "Not everyone understands how you can spin two lassos at the same time, one of hope and one of grief."
