When LO was in the NICU I remember the nurse opening this flat plastic thing that had a few drops of some kind of sugar syrup she called sweeties to put on her soothie before giving her a shot. I am thinking of this now because LO had her 3rd dose of Synagis last night at the dr's office and she screamed bloody murder and was crying so much. I felt so bad for her. Has anyone purchased something similar for home use with vaccinations?
Re: sweeties or sugar syrup?
I have often wondered why the Pediatrician didn't offer it. It would make everyone's vaccines much easier.
I googled Sweet Ease and it looks like you can buy it, but I would check with the pedi first. Did you specifically request it, maybe some offices have it but only when requested?
LO goes back for the remainder of her 12 month vaccines next week, since there were too many to give in one visit (with Synagis added). I am going to ask about Sweet Ease then.
