Sorry ... repeating some FTM clothing questions

Hi - I am still confused.

Before yesterday I didn't really have any clothing for the baby (we are team green), but I got a few yellow things for my shower and then yesterday I got a lot neutral stuff on clearance at Target.  I love Target clearance :)

 So ... I have 7 onesies/sleepers in size newborn ... and 18 onesies/sleepers in size 0-3 months.  My questions:

1.  0-3 months is the same as 3 months, right?  and 3-6 months is the same as 6 mos?

2.  Is this enough?  I don't want to do laundry every day!

 THANKS!

  • The sizes are not the same. 6 months should be bigger than 36 months. It depends the brand. And as to if you have enough, it depends the child. If they spit up a lot, maybe not.

  • I would consider getting a little more sizes too like up to 12 months because ur LO may not fit into newborn clothes, I was a 7lb baby and I did not fit into newborn clothes at all, and babies average from 69 lbs, it also depends on the length of baby too so getting some bigger sizes will help u out, I got newborn to some 2tit was super cute and on sale obviously won't fit him for a while but a broad range helps wit the 03 months I assume its up to 3 months old like how you are putting it same as 06 months
  • It all just depends. I go more by the weight on the tag than the size. Also, different companies have their clothes run differently (gerber is small, carter's is more on size, etc...). You just have to test it out, more or less, when the baby arrives.

  • The sizes you mentioned are not the same.  Sizes will vary brand to brand (like gerber runs super small), but in general it will go from preemie, newborn, 0-3, 3, 3-6, 6 (you get the point).  A good example is for us right now my 13 month old doesn't fit into 12 mo pants and 18 mo fit but are a little long, however 12-18mo pants fit her perfectly.  Usually the same article of clothing in the same brand will not run in both a 12mo and a 12-18 mo though, so you'll end up with a variety of sizes dependent upon what you buy.

As for the amounts you have, I say no, it isn't enough.  I however had 160 outfits for my daughter before she was born.  I wish I were exagerating.  You obviously don't need that much (or anywhere close), but you kind of lumped onsies and sleepers in like they're the same thing.  The onsies won't count as an entire outfit since you'll need to put them under a sleeper or pair them with pants.  I also always changed her from day clothes into bed clothes and never used the same pj's 2 nights in a row. I also didn't usually take her out of the house in sleepers, only outfits. So take my advice with a grain of salt :)

  • 0-3 months is basically up to 3 months. Depending on the size your baby is. Newborn usually up to around 12 lbs. 3-6m, 3 up to 6 mos. depending again how big baby is. Those first 3 months baby grows quickly so I always asked for 3mos and up. They don't stay in them for long. If you have infant bibs that also helps changing less too.  from feeding to spitting up.
  • Not really enough but I wouldn't recommend getting more till you know what you are having. Once the baby gets here you will not want to use all the gender neutral stuff. Just a thought. I think you have enough for a start.
