Yes I drink water in between. I drink a lot of water and seltzer so I dont think that has any affect on the numbers. As for the number on the meter being off, I am not sure. I have not heard of that. I do know that if there was not enough blood for the sample, but the machine read it anyway, the result will be lower then it should. I usually re test with a bigger sample and get a more accurate number (and sometimes not). I am just going with what the meter says. GL

I drink water constantly throughout the day regardless of when I'm testing. You need to be fully hydrated in pregnancy, and you're not going to "cheat" your numbers by drinking enough water. Because strips are so over priced, I typically only do more than one strip if my number is over by at least 10 points. I've found that when my number is over, multiple strips can differ by up to 30 pts depending on the hand/finger/etc I use, how much I well up, etc. Usually, tho, my strips will only differ by about 5pts. If there is a huge discrepancy, then I'll note it in the book for the doc to review.

I test and take whatever number I get. The dr is looking for a pattern of highs and lows. One here or there doesn't count as a pattern. I try not to stress about the number. And I drink as much water as I can throughout the day.

I drink water, coke zero, whatever I want. And yes home meters can be off 10% in either direction. So when my OB looks at my #s she'll put a mark next to anything that is borderline (136 if I'm supposed to be 140). I would sometimes have 2-3 of these borderline #s a week. But as long as all the rest were fine she wouldn't adjust dosage based on those.
