When to start temping

My husband and I don't plan to TTC for six months, but based on what I've been reading I should begin to temp now to know more about my ovulation.

My question is when is the best time to start temping? After the period?

    Yes after your period. The day you start your period is the first day of the cycle.

    You can start during AF just to get yourself in the habit of temping. However, temps during AF are generally pretty erratic, so a lot of people normally skip it. Also, it took me a few cycles to get the hang of temping, so don't be discouraged if you don't get clear info right away. I only started after TTC; I'd think that 1 or 2 months of practice would be sufficient, unless you want to feel like you're doing something besides waiting during the 6 months until you start TTC.

    You could also start taking PNVs now.

    I always waited until after my period to start temping, though if you O early and have longer periods you may want to start a smidge sooner.

    TTC since 2010

    lots of IUIs and 1 IVF all BFNs

    FET currently on hold

    I start temping like 3 days into my cycle.
