Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Intro and food on the go question!

Hello all!  I'm a little early, LO will be 9 months in a week from today (can't believe it!!); but I just wanted to jump in and say hi :).  I lurk a lot but chime in occasionally.

I do have a food question, and I thought it would be more appropriate on this board than the 6-9 months -  LO eats 3 pretty solid meals a day with a few snacks mixed in, I have just started weaning him so he gets BF 7 am, 1 pm, and before bed, with about 4 oz of formula around 9 and 3.  But what does everyone do when they're out of the house for meals?  I keep snacks in the diaper bag and will give LO one of those pouches if he's really hungry, but he hasn't really gotten the hang of them yet.  Any other suggestions for a full meal on the go?  TIA!

Re: Intro and food on the go question!

  • Should have been more specific!  What do you do when you're in like, Target, Petsmart, or other errand places?  I guess I could stop and grab lunch somewhere so we could both eat.  I'll have to try to get in the habit of that!

  • When DS was younger if we were in the middle of something and couldn't sit down I'd try to just pacify him with his sippy cup until we could.  If you can find anywhere to sit down in the store, just do it and feed them there.  Most people will understand :)  We do a lot of applesauce cups and fruit cups on the go (peaches are the best- they're the mushiest).  We've also started with Toddler cereal bars, but they can be a little crumby.  Keep working on the pouches, those things are awesome!
