Recommend your facial moisturizer

I LOVE my Aveeno facial moisturizer, but for some reason it's not cutting it right now and my face (really my cheek bones) are scaly dry even when I use my normal moisturizer twice a day. Help!!

Re: Recommend your facial moisturizer

  • I usually have super dry skin, but I've been using DD's Burt's Bees baby lotion with no complaints.

  • Oil of Olay usually works for me. I use a night cream before bed, and an anti aging in the am. I also use the facial wipes at night and a gentle cleaner with moisture control during the day.

  • Josie Maran Argan Oil for winter when my face gets so dry it hurts to smile and will often times crack at the corners of my mouth (ouch!).

For the rest of the year when my skin acts normal - I use Coconut Oil.

  • I used to use Oil of Olay regenerating serum, but due to budget cuts I had to go to Costco's Borghese line.  Surprisingly enough it's really nice.  However, during the day I still use Philosophy's Hope in a Jar spf 25

  • I have been using Eucirin Professional Repair and love it.  It has been working so well during this dry time of year.  Normally my skin is gross and dry this time of year, but so far so good!!

  • Coconut oil!

It is the best thing that ever happened to my skin.

  • I love love love my Dr. Brandt Lineless Cream.  I actually think it's helped clear up my skin, and it's so soft and glowy!

  • I don't care about bags and shoes, but lotions and potions are what I like to splurge on.  But honestly, I switched from Cetaphil lotion to Cetaphil cream this winter and it's made such a difference in my skin.  It's $13 for a huge tub and it's really helped my super-dry skin look and feel better.  It's much less ruddy and I'm taking a break from my anti-agers for a little bit (but not my eye cream-never lose the eye cream!) and am just using sunscreen and the Cetaphil cream for now.

  • I have acne worse than a 13 year old some days :/ For that I use Arbonne Acne lotion, for dryness I use Mary Kay Velocity oil free moisturizer.

Same here :) I just posted in Woodsies thread, and thought I was the only one!

Me three!!  I have found it to be better than anything I've ever tried to clear my skin and keep it soft.  30 year old acne sucks and I will be forever grateful to whomever suggested I try coconut oil (on top of dropping soda/caffeine/eating like s**t overall but I digress).

  • Burt's Bees Night Cream...  Been using the same jar for a LONG time so the price evens out I think.  I use it night and day.

That being said...  I just looked it up and they must have changed their formula since I bough mine.  There are a number of complaints.  :(

We have Coconut Oil for cooking. Never thought to put it on my face. Do you just scoop it and rub it? Is there a special technique?
  • I stole LO's California Baby eczema cream. I was pissed when it seemed to irritate her skin because it's sooooooooooo expensive and I was desperate to try something for her scaly skin, but it works great on me. This weather is kicking my butt!

  • I would also use a toner after you wash your face to descale and help your skin naturally retain some moisture. I use Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel, but anything with witch hazel in it will do the trick.
