Advice Needed Re: Rocking Horse (XP from FB)

My parents got Ben a rocking horse that is very similar to this one. I couldn't find the actual one he received online. I think it is more for kids who are 2 or 3 years old. He can't climb on it himself and could very easily fall off it if someone isn't holding him. It is a great rocking horse, but I don't think he can really use it right now. I wanted him to have some ride-on/rocker-type thing. Do we get him something else until he grows into this one? Help! 

E.T.A. The seat of the horse is almost two feet off the ground.

    Aiden got a few things that are a little to old for him, even though they say 12 months he just isn't able to use them yet.  I'd say if it's actually dangerous then put it away for while and try it out in a few months.  If he doesn't have anything ride on I'd just get one of the small ride on toys that you can push him on.  Aiden has one that says 9 months and he really enjoys getting pushed on it.  I'd say most of the rocking things are probably too old for them right now.  Unless they had like a kid harness lol

    Munchkin got a Rockabye rocker for Christmas and they're advertised as being for a year to 4 years. He won't be able to climb on it by himself for at least a few more months. His feet are about 3 to 4 inches off the ground when he's sitting on it.

    I still think it's age appropriate for him though. I asked for it for him so he could play with it through the year, not necessarily right now.

    I'd probably give Ben a few more months to see if he grows into it before getting something else.

    DS got the Tek Nek Rocking Rider Pony.  He loooves it.  DD had a friend with one who played on it at 3.
