How to transition to sleeping at Day care

I am going back to work (Day care teacher) finally in about a month and am now realizing DD has never slept (well) anywhere else....EVER! She refuses to nap at my moms house or MILs.

Anyone have any suggestions on helping her get used to sleeping not in her own bed/room?? TIA

Re: How to transition to sleeping at Day care

  • After working at a daycare I was always amazed how well even bad sleepers fell into the daycare nap routine.  As long as you aren't the teacher in the room that she is in, I would let her classroom teachers worry about it.  They should be accustomed to iffy nap times when kids first transition to daycare.

  • I know keeping LO on the same sleeping schedule as DC while at home will really help with any naptime issues. DS is about to transition to the 1 year old room (they have to be fully walking to transition) and they only nap one time a day after lunch. So we're working on stretching out two naps into one long nap.
