Ring sling? K'tan? Woven wrap?

Hi there,

DS is a big boy and I love to wear him but am finding the Ergo isn't fitting my needs when it comes to house cleaning and some other tasks. My son is 3 months and 15pds. I love my ergo but am looking to supplement with a sling or wrap of some sorts.
Things I need;
1. EASY and quick to wrap totally on my own. NO moby wrap! That thing is rediculous lol, and my DS is too big for it anyways
2. Very secure feeling and safe for tasks that require bending/squatting etc
3. Something where u can hold baby in many different positions but I am most flexible with this one
4. Under 100

Ideas? Ring sling? K'tan? Woven wrap? Would love to hear your reasoning, where you bought your choice and about how much it was.

Thanks!!

  • A woven wrap is going to be like the Moby in the sense that you will need to wrap but it is going to be much more supportive and versatile.  I can wrap my 32 pound 3 year old still!  I will admit there is a learning curve, but, once you get it down you will be wrapping like a pro.  At first it took time, but soon after I was doing a bunch of different wraps quickly...in parking lots, while getting off trains, etc.

    Any others? If you own a ring sling what brand do you own and do you like it?
  • I've been borrowing a Maya Wrap rs and will be ordering my own Sleeping Baby Productions rs in the next couple of days. I prefer my woven wrap in a back carry for chores, front carry for naps, and the rs for the store/errands.

  • I made my own ring sling and I really like it. I wouldn't recommend a k'tan for your babe because he's so heavy. I really liked my k'tan for the nb phase though. My sinks 10 months old and 15.5lbs and I haven't tried it in a long time.
