I think I developed Carpal tunnel

I think I developed carpal tunnel.  My right hand is killing me, and the pain radiates down my arm.  My wrist hurts too. When I make a fist, it hurts to the point, that I can't really make one.

Should I bother calling my OB?  I'm pretty sure what it is, and that there isn't really much I can do except deal.

I go for another appointment next week.

I mentioned it to my OB last time and I am now in a brace at night. I didn't make a separate call - I just waited until my next appt. I would suggest going to Rite Aid and grabbing a night brace to see if that helps. I have more numbness and weakness than pain. I drop EVERYTHING. I pray that it resolves once I have the baby.

How long has it been happening? I know that my hands fall asleep so much easier and that they are definitely weaker. I am not going to worry now, it might go away after my blood is back to normal.

I had it with my last pg and I just mentioned it at my appointment. I just basically had to deal with it, but maybe they would have given me a brace if it was causing me a lot of discomfort.

I have this too. I went out and got wrist braces to sleep in. It helps. Today I got a prenatal massage and she could tell. She asked if my hands were hurting, I told her yes, she said I had lots of muscular knots up by my shoulders and would work them out. I already feel so much better. My hands are not tingling at all.

This. I had bad carpal tunnel most of second and third tri with DD and the braces really helped. GL!

I developed it with this pregnancy as well. The OB just said use a good supportive wrist brace as needed, take tylenol if the pain gets too bad, but it would go away once the baby was born. Not much they can do or give you at this point. If it continues after the baby, then you would get a referral from your primary physician about what to do.

Carpal tunnel is usually due to repeated motions/actions. Has anything with your desk or computer changed recently? I would get gel pads for your keyboard/mouse and make sure your desk, montior, and chair are at the proper height. You also want to make sure you are sitting up straight and both feet are on the floor. It will relieve pain and will make a huge difference if you sit at a computer most of the day. A lot of companies have ergonomic specialist to help you.

I had pretty bad carpel tunnel years ago and wearing a wrist brace that had been made specially fitted for me helped a lot; my doc thought I was going to need surgery.

I had forgotten what the pain was like until this past 10 days or so; it's back and with a vengence and in both hands!  I have moved several times and misplaced my brace and can only hope that this will resolve after the baby is born... aside from being uncomfortable; it's scarey and very painful!

To those who have purchased braces from the pharmacy is there one brand that is better than another? I may have to try one.

Ugh, this is me too. My midwife said I could wear a brace but that it won't do much good. Basically just suck it up for a few more weeks.

I get it worse with each pregnancy and nothing has helped me. =( I'm going to try those yoga stretches someone mentioned and try a prenatal massage soon if I can swing it. For me it started very early in the pregnancy and has gotten so bad I can hardly function half the day. It gets better once the baby is here, but still hurts a lot for a few months after. My OBs say there is nothing they can do.
