So I downloaded this app and gave it a try today and it was kind of fun so I thought I'd recommend it for anyone interested.
It's called "Run Zombie Run" and it's
an application that gives you "missions" as you run. I downloaded the full version, but there's one geared specifically for 5ks.
With the full, there's no distance, time, or speed requirement. I did 4 miles today and completed 1 mission. My helicopter went down and I made it safely to the hospital to get supplies and then to the fort, successfully evading zombies.
It works with your own playlist, but adds the story in too and gives you warnings when the zombies are approaching, at which point you have to pick up your speed until you put 200 feet between you and the zombie horde.
Word of warning if you're jumpy like I am though... I freaked out a bit when the program was telling me a zombie was gaining on me and I heard footsteps on the deserted trail behind me, only to turn and see another runner right on my heels.
When I downloaded the app it was half off for New Years, but I'm not sure how long that promotion is going on.
Re: Runners
I've looked into those and I've decided I'd be too afraid. I hate people invading my personal space so I don't like those "Scare zone" type activities. Or clowns.
