TTT

Forgive me if I'm being presumptuous for starting this myself today!  I'm just bored at home today and wondering how everyone's holidays were!

What are you Ten Things for this Tuesday?

Re: TTT

  • My TTT Today:

    1.  We POAS twice now and got a BFN.  Going in for our blood test tomorrow to confirm and hopefully talk to our doc about Femara for our next cycle.

    2.  I've been fighting a stomach bug since Christmas and am so tired of it!  That said, I tried to kill it with a few OTC meds yesterday and paid for it with the worst heartburn I've ever had, so I'm doing it the natural way today with tea, toast and lost of laying on the couch.

    3.  My mom gave us a sewing machine for Xmas and I'm not sure what to make first!  Suggestions welcome!

    4.  Healz and I are off tomorrow for a short two-night vacation to Niagara Falls that we scored via groupon.   I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the hotel or just having our dog go to the boarder's for three days and not having to worry about her!

    5.  I have SO much work to do before next week that I didn't do while I was "working from home" last week.  Bah!  Note-to-self, working from home doesn't work for me!

    6.  Congrats to all of you who got BFP's over the holidays!  And I'm looking forward to the updates from those of you who are also in the bfn boat and who will be buddies in January.

    7.  Despite my stomach issues I'm STARVING.  I have a wicked craving for spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread.

    8.   I'm so grateful for the break!  Between all of the fertility news, bad news, and the end of the year at work December was super stressful.  I can finally say that I feel better equipped to go back to work in January as well as starting our next iui cycle.

    9.  I'm nervous about talking with our doc tomorrow.  She talks so fast and has such a convincing manner I feel like it's really hard to get the information we need going into the appointments with her.  I'm actually going to try to write things down in advance this time.

    10.   I'm looking forward to all the updates on the LGBT gayby boom of 2013!

  • Greetings!

    1. Wondering if my dp is on board for us to try for nbr 2 or not.

    2. I started to realized that having one kiddo is alright, then i'll have baby pains again.

    3. i'm having a tought time believing our little guy will be 3 in just under 3 months. Where has time flown?

    4. Love seeing the announcements of bfp and yet i crave another experience. Also sad for those who got bfn as well.

    5. Obviously i have a one track mind today.... (really a two track - i need to vent as well.)

    6. I'm still amazed that I'm still nursing my little guy, but i seceretly wish he would stop.

    7. Havent made any resolutions yet, but part of me is already "dreaming" for this year.

    8. I hope everyone here has a wonderful year!

    9. Need to find a place to take Little Bear sleding over here on the Olympics.

    10. One last thing to do today - not the Polar Bear dip, but I need to touch the ocean/water this morning/afternoon.

  • Anyone can start any of the daily threads!

    1. Happy New Year! This is the year that will bring a big career advancement and our baby!

    2. 8 weeks today! We've started calling the baby "blueberry" (based on baby center's food-sized analogies) and even though we're now at kidney bean size it will be fun to see if we come up with a new "inside name" since we aren't finding out the sex and want something to call the baby other than it.

    3. I'm sick. I have the yucky cold that C had for over a week. I hope mine clears before that long.

    4. I got a very warm welcome on my BMB. I was nervous about potential homophobia and tons of folks were super friendly and open in their support. I also love that there are at least 2-3 other LBGTQ families on the board.

    5. I'm not looking forward to returning to work this week and back to my total hours next week. At least it's mostly from home.

    6. My best friend comes to stay with us tomorrow, will stay the night and leaves on Thursday morning. I'm going to pull myself together enough to spend some time with him.

    7. I did spend a few hours with him after going up to our hometown to see my mom. It was a nice day and totally worth the drive.

    8. C has been so sweet with my being pregnant and now sick. Now that she's feeling better it's back to her asking if I need anything and bring me water and snacks.

    9. I'm so excited for our u/s on Monday!

    10. I think it will all feel (even) more real then (esp. for C) and we'll be able to relax and start thinking about telling family and friends!

  • 1. It totally feels like Sunday and not a Tuesday

    2. My wonderful wife is home with me today and we are watching football, I love chill days at home

    3. I am really tired of not working, I need a job!

    4. We are focusing on our 2 month of TTC, it feel like its been a lot longer then that

    5. I had a friend pass away last week of a drug overdose, she was 34.  I am not sure how to process her death.  It seems surreal.

    6. My wife is always so sweet and supportive, especially during difficult times

    7. I am finding it hard to keep it a secret that we are TTC, I cannot even imagine how we will keep it a secret when we get pregnant!

    8. I am so relieved all the holidays are over, they seem so stressful.

    9. I am feeling better after fighting a cold for the last few days.

    10. I am hoping and praying that 2013 is much better than 2012

  • 1. Owl says Apple clearly now.

    2. J wants to buy a pregnant goat, I'm trying to figure out the benefits other than the milk.

    3. 2012 sucked, 2013 needs to be better.

    4. The sunrise this morning was amazing.

    5. I'm ready for a nap.

    6. I look like a femme lumberjack but I love my plaid flannel shirt, it's so cozy.

    7. J wants to get rid of our German Shepard so she can get a Chocolate Lab, her reason is that our GS is too crazy. Of course he's crazy, we haven't trained him, same thing will happen with a different dog.

    8. That's it today.
  • Hi everyone! Happy 2013!!!

    1. Post something on TB today :) (check!)

    2. Walked around Greenlake with my mom. It's a sunny, crisp, gorgeous Seattle day!

    3. Coffee with mom at my DW's coffeeshop, which was hopping with people and kids and happiness and community! (and perhaps a few hangovers in the room?) I continue to adjust to drinking decaf, and being made fun of by DW's employees. DW, though reserved and private, couldn't contain herself as the day we got our beta BFP was the day of her employee holiday party...after a few drinks, she basically told everyone. Whoops. :)

    4. Make pork & sauerkraut for good luck (my tradition).

    5. Make black eyed peas & collards for good luck (DW's tradition, she's from the south)

    6. Tomorrow Babykins and I are 6 weeks along!!! My mom told me a little more about my birth today. She's so excited - I am having her first grandchild (I have 3 younger sisters, too, no babies) - I think she is really joyful to get to be a mom to me in a new way. Me too.

    7. Bringing house back to center post-holiday decoration storm. Tree is down, but now to put away our xmas gifts and fold...the....laundry....sigh.

    8. Observing DW who is creating a new office space in our unfinished (but dry and decent) basement. She won't let me paint ("honey, Babykins would not approve") but I go check in on her progress. She said "We have to start literally making room for Babykins, so he or she knows they are welcome and expected!". I love her.

    9. Pay bills. It is the 1st, after all.

    10. Continue my complete denial of returning to work, balancing my waves of crushing fatigue with being my high-energy, perky self in the workplace. My boss & 1 coworker know I'm pregnant, so I don't have to pretend with them which is nice. They are both parents so they are excited and very supportive of me. But still....work. Blech. I am lucky to have good flexibility (work from home a lot) and my accounts are east coast (which means most people are gone by 2 or so PST) so I can nap mid-afternoon here and there....I hope).

    Happy day to all!!!

    2. 8 weeks today! We've started calling the baby "blueberry" (based on baby center's food-sized analogies) and even though we're now at kidney bean size it will be fun to see if we come up with a new "inside name" since we aren't finding out the sex and want something to call the baby other than it.

DP and I are referring to the baby as "alien baby" because that's what it looks like for awhile.  =)

    1. Missed the New Year because of my work schedule (I was sleeping, DP was at work) but she did wake me up around 2am when she got home to kiss me.

    2. Now that family knows, and several friends and co-workers, I've gotten a lot of my excitement out and feel that I can hold off of making an "official announcement" to the rest of my co-workers and friends.  Probably won't announce to Facebook until into the second trimester.

    3. My mom's cousin has decided that between the two of them, they get to name our baby.  So far the names Chloe and Bridget were thrown out from my cousin.

    4. I think my mom is so excited she wants to hang out with me more often (we already are very close and talk at least once a day).  The last week she's called two or three times just to have me tag along while she runs errands.

    5. Can't WAIT for our first appointment tomorrow!  Hopefully I will have something for PIP this week.  =D

    6.  It's COLD out.  January is my least favorite month because it's so cold, and so long.  Ugh.

    7. All of our animals have been more snuggly  than usual lately.

    8. I started watching Parenthood since I wanted to watch it when it first came out but couldn't because of my work schedule.  I'm almost done with the first season.

    9. Last week I spent over $500 on new tires for our van because one tire had a nail that couldn't be fixed and we have AWD so all 4 tires need to be changed.  While they were changing them, they showed me the front strut coil was broken, so I ended up having to spend another $1,000 on that, only to lead to a leak in the coolant line.  Luckily they only charged me for labor to fix that and it was only $40, but I really didn't need all that stress.  Hoping that will be it for awhile besides oil changes and car washes.

    10. Hope everyone has a great New Year!

  • 1.  Tuesday is almost over so sorry for the late post.

    2.  I'm huge.  I have gained over 50lbs this pregnancy.  I am starting to feel it.

    3.  We had a fairly relaxed New Year.  We stayed home, slept in this morning and ate our black eyed peas and cabbage.

    4.  Ran errands today as I was completely tired of being cooped up.  M actually let me out of the house on my own!

    5.  All the laundry is done, folded and put away.  This might be a first.

    6.  I am watching Eureka on Netflix.  I am in love with this show.

    7.  I get to set my c-section date at our next appointment.  M and I have been discussing dates as her time off at home with the boys will depend on how many days she has to take off with me in the hospital.  It's a very stressful decision.  I think the stress is mainly hitting me as its a reminder that we are about 30 days and counting.

    8.   I went and got a cost.co membership over last week.  I am starting to second guess it as I was not that impressed once I took a brief tour of the store.

    9.  On in Texas will you have your heater on in your house, then an hour later have to turn on the a/c.  It's annoyance is being magnified by pregnancy and the fact I really do not like to be hot.

    10.  Everything is ready for the boys.  Our bags are packed, their room is ready, clothes are washed etc.  This was a huge weight off my shoulders.

  • This is my first TTT and I am excited!

    1. My wife and I just got home from our holiday travels. We were gone for almost 2 weeks!

    2. Tomorrow I make our appointment for our first IUI...so nervous and excited.

    3. My wife and I sat down and made our resolutions tonight, it was awesome to feel as though we had a clean slate!

    4. When we came home it was 45 in our house and it is SO cold in here. I hate being cold!!!

    5. I get to go back to my part time job tomorrow and I am so excited to see my babies!

    6. I am starting to clean out our office this week in order to move it to our basement. This will be where the nursery will go eventually.

    7. We have been watching the first season for Dexter and I am so obsessed!

    8. I cannot wait to take down my holiday decorations and get my house back to normal!

    9. We are launching the 2nd 1/2 of my home business in the next few weeks and I am very excited to see what happens.

    10. I am so happy to have found this group!

If you use any formula for the boys, the Costco formula is much cheaper than the name brands and identical in nutrition, etc. We really liked the wipes from Costco and still use them to wipe faces/hands. I haven't priced diapers there in awhile (if you are going to use disposable), but they were the cheapest. You'll be going through a lot of detergent...

    Other stuff we buy:

veggies/fruit, rotisserie chicken, laundry supplies, milk, cheese sticks for the kids, gogurt yogurt tubes for the kids, applesauce cups/packets for the kids,  pasta, clothes for the kids (more so when they were younger..), snacky stuff for kids lunch...

We will more than likely be using formula at least to supplement so that is why we got the membership.  I did price the wipes and diapers and they were way cheaper (diapers around $.18 per diaper as compared to $.22+ at other places).  We also priced paper goods and laundry/cleaning supplies and it was a much better deal especially on their brand.  I figure with these items alone we can easily spend $300 monthly here.

Thank you so much for the other items as I didn't think about those.  Our walk through was very quick as I was swelling too bad in my legs and feet to stay on them and they were out of the electric carts.   We also did the cash back membership so 2% on all purchases.  I figure we will spend enough over the course of the year there to make our membership about $10 when it is all said and done.

I told M the membership will come in really handy once the boys are on table food as they will more than likely (if anything like me) eat us out of house and home.

I am more used to a sam.s environment but my mom group on fb told me cost.co has much better items when it comes to diapers, formula etc.  I think I just need to get used to the switch.
