Hello, I am newly pregnant with my first and thinking about maybe trying cloth diapers when baby comes. Is there somewhere that gives instructions on what needs to be done different with cloth? or a guide to cloth diapering? Do you have to put the big plastic pants over that my mom used on me? Does anyone make their own or is it best to buy pre-made ones? Any suggestions would be great thanks!
There's a FAQ at the top of the board with lots of good info. Watch the cloth diapering 101 videos on YouTube. Kellyscloset.com and jilliansdrawers.com are good resources, also. There are lots of different kinds of diapers now and they have come a long way from when your mom CD'ed you. No one uses plastic pants anymore. Insead there are covers made of PUL wich is better all the way around. Some people make their own, but the majority seem to just buy them.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!! I agree with all the info PP gave you. Just remember you don't have to learn everything about CD'ing right away. Take your ime, do your research. Lurk and ask questions here!
Diaperparties.com has consultants you can get in touch with. They are great. The owner got me started on cloth diapering they even have a newborn rental program. Good way to determine if cloth diapering is for you.
Ditto KJsbabe, though my SIL CDs my niece, using a diaper service + plastic pants. (Yes, I side eye it a bit. )
Whaaa?? That's like the worst of both worlds - the expense of a service with no benefit of 'modern' cloth diapering items. Flips are available for $7 on the seconds sale right now for goodness sake!
