I remember from a post you were both mentioning video monitors that you can watch through your phone. Which ones have you looked at (or have)? Do you know if any have additional handsets? I'm thinking about baby sitters and whatnot.
We just got this one through Zulily for $130, less than half price. DH is a techie and this one impressed him so hopefully it lives up to his expectations.
And I have to add some questions for anyone who has done this or plans to do it...how does the phone part work? Does it only work with certain phones? We have iPhones. Is it just an app? Can I check it from anywhere or do I have to have wifi access?
BLT, is the Zulily event over?

Yeah its over, but the prices on Amazon are similar to what we paid. I think its a manufacturer sale so idk how long it will last.
It gives me warm fuzzies when something I posted gets stalked.
You have another stalker then! I HATE my Summer Infant video monitor (love having a video monitor, hate the crappy Summer brand equipment) and we are looking for alternatives, preferably something we can hook up to our iPhones and iPad.
There are fancier cameras out there, but this one does the job. It's small, wireless, and has night vision, so perfect for checking on your baby.
Basically, you set up an account to configure the camera on the manufacturer's website (very quick and easy). Then all the camera needs is to be plugged in to a power outlet, and then the video feed links up to the wireless signal in your house. While it doesn't come with any handsets, you can log in to view the video feed from the mydlink.com website from any computer, or from the (free) dlink apps for iphone and android. When we have a babysitter, we usually leave them our ipad or one of our laptops in case they want to see the baby.
That said, we do have a very basic audio monitor that we use while we sleep at night, just so our phones aren't using up battery to display the feed all night long.
The best part about this (other than the price) is that I can see the video feed while I'm out of the house, and I'm not limited to the range of a traditional monitor. So it can double as a nanny cam if you want to be able to check in while you're out. You can set up multiple cameras on the account, and when you log on you just pick which camera you want to view from a list.
Sorry this got long! If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them

Hi there!
We have been using the D -Link DCS-932L for about 16 months, and we're very happy with it! We'll be getting a second one for baby #2's room.
