GD: Finally found a bedtime snack that works!

Weeee!!!  It took eating hospital food to figure it out (long story), but I finally found a nighttime/bedtime snack that gives me good fasting numbers.  Around 8 PM I eat some fruit and either Greek yogurt or cottage cheese and at 9:30 PM I eat an egg, some sausage, and have a glass of milk.  I kept trying to tinker with amounts of whole wheat breads and I guess I just don't do well with bread at night.  I'm just so glad I found something that works (for now) before my next MFM appt.  Yay!

  • I am going to try this tonight! I have been struggling with my fasting numbers too. I have some Greek yogurt just need to grab a protien to add.

  • I feel your joy! Just the past couple of days have I found that "magical" bedtime snack. 2 slices of cinnamon raisin bread (gluten free). 1 slice with strawberry Laughing Cow, 1 with cinnamon Laughing cow. Spoonful of PB and 1/2c of milk! My fastings were as high as 119 the past week, nothing below 100. Past 3 days were 95, 90, and 86!!!!!!

Oooh, that sounds good.  Too bad bread is my bedtime enemy!

  • Glad to hear it! I have yet to find the magical combination. It used to be greek yogurt but that stopped. I am going to try yogurt too. I have had a bowl of cereal or pretzels and cheese and nothing seems to work one way or the other. I hope this works for you and continues to go well!
