Eben - thoughts?

I read a book last week by a man named Eben. I kinda like the name, but I'm not sure it stands on its own apart from Ebenezer, which doesn't have the best vibe. What does BNB think?

I had never heard the name before the kid on American Idol some time ago. I kind of like it, it's different. But it makes me think of the word ebb.

Nms and at first I thought it was pronounced like it rhymes with Eden but based on a pp, I'm thinking it sounds like Evan???

A guy I grew up with named his kid this. I'd never heard of it before. It's nms, but it's kind of grown on me through seeing his post about his kid on FB.

I know an adult named Eben as well, but I agree that the Evan-with-a-cold thing makes it less attractive.

I knew someone in college with this name. I've never heard it as a nn for Ebenezer, so I wouldn't associate it with that. I do agree that it does sound a little like Evan with a cold.
