fisher price healthy care booster

I have a post below about the FP space saver high chair, but I am also considering the healthy care booster as well. If you have this chair, could you please comment on the following questions:

-do you like the chair and would you recommend it?

-approximately what ages can you use the chair with?

-do you find it a con that the chair is not padded?

-what cons do you find with the chair?

Re: fisher price healthy care booster

  • -do you like the chair and would you recommend it?

Love it. I would definitely highly recommend it.

-approximately what ages can you use the chair with?

We started using it when DS was about 6 months old or so. He is now 18 months and still fits in it just fine with plenty of room to spare.

-do you find it a con that the chair is not padded?

Nope. If anything, I consider it a "pro" that it's not padded because it is sooooo easy to clean--just wipe it down. There are no cracks/seams to get encrusted with food.

-what cons do you find with the chair?

Honestly, I can't think of any.

Also, you didn't ask, but I love the small size of the tray--it fits easily into my sink for cleaning. The whole seat folds down nicely for transport, too. We bring it with us to my parents' house and have even brought it on vacation with us in the past. For the $, you can't beat it, especially since the seat should last far past infancy into toddlerhood. No need to buy an additional booster seat when LO gets bigger and is sitting at the table.

  • No padding is a good thing!

It doesn't work for bigger kids. DS would never fit in this. His belly is too big.

  • We used this seat exclusively for DS from 8 months to about 2 when he decided he wanted to sit in a regular chair. We plan to use the same thing for our next child.

I loved that it was easy to clean and the top folded down so the chair slid up to the table like all the rest.
  • I have a post below about the FP space saver high chair, but I am also considering the healthy care booster as well. If you have this chair, could you please comment on the following questions.  I have both the FP space saver AND the booster.  We use the space saver most of the time, it stays set up in the corner of the kitchen, and DD eats dinner most nights before we do so I generally feed her there (in DC for other meals).  The Healthy Care Booster is on our dining room chair for when she sits there with us on weekends, and for travel.

-do you like the chair and would you recommend it?  Yes and yes!  Straps easily on any chair, is sturdy, easy to clean, folds compactly for storage, great for travel or when she spends the day at her aunt's house and we want a real chair for her to sit in.  Will also be a perfect booster seat once she gets a little older, and I want/need the high chair for LO2.

-approximately what ages can you use the chair with?  We didn't get ours until she was like 9 months old, and she was fine in it then.  I imagine anytime after you LO can sit up on their own unsupported.

-do you find it a con that the chair is not padded?  No.  DD doesn't sit in the chair for more than 15 minutes at a time (although once we took it for lunch with grandma and she amazingly sat nicely in the chair for over 45 minutes).  In fact, its sort of a pro - the hard plastic makes it SUPER easy to clean!

-what cons do you find with the chair?  I don't think I have any.  Maybe if your LO is very wiggly and needs to be strapped down?  Its only a 3 point harness, not a 5 point like most regular high chairs are.  Its never been a problem for us, and the fact she can lean forward to reach for her cup or food on her own is a bonus.
