4 month wakeful: how long did it last?

I'm not sure if DS is going through the 4 month wakeful or not because we found out Friday that he has a double ear infection. :. He has been on an antibiotic since then and is still sleeping terribly, although the doctor said it might take a couple days for him to feel better. I know every baby and circumstance is different, but if it's the 4 month wakeful, I'm just wondering how long it lasts for babies. If you've been through it, how long did it last?

    With my first I was going crazy & we let him cry a lot one night & he started sleeping better after that,,, then 12-13 hours on his own at 6 months!!!!

     

    My daughter has been waking since 3.5 months & still wakes here & there but tolerates it so I only feed her at 4 am. I hope this too ends at 6 months. If not then ill teach her to get over the waking with CIO or weaning & putting her pacifier in, around 6 months or when she can get her paci on her own ...

    we are still going through it at 5.5 months, although she is not waking as much as she was.  I've read it can go on through 6-7 months.

    Never experienced it but we have had random periods of wakefulness so it's not set in stone and nothing you can predict. Babies constantly change and there's not always an answer for it. I guarantee the double ear infection is making it hard for him to sleep :
    I'm sure the ear infection is a big factor. If he still isn't feeling better in a few days, I may take him to the doctor again in case they need to change his medicine...
