eating

I'm curious how often your LOs eat solids every day. Like every 2 hours, 3 hours, etc.
I started doing 3 meals now, and he seems interested in 2 small snacks.
I used to do spoon feeding and then finish that feed off with finger foods but I decided it would make more sense to let him eat more through out the day, instead of all at once. So now he's eating approximately every 2 hours or so.
Does this sound right?

We wake up at 8 or 9, and have breakfast
Snack around 11 or 12
Lunch.. around 2
Snack around 4
Dinner around 6 or 7

He's still nursing approximately 4 times a day, and he seems to be sleeping better at night with this new solids schedule. We started 2 or 3 days ago, I just want to make sure it's good.

Re: eating

  • We have been off lately since around Thanksgiving. She started only wanting "real" food and then she got sick and didn't want anything but cheerios. But essentially - right before she gave up baby food at thanksgiving - our schedule was very similar to yours. Right now we're trying to get back into our habits - so we are looking at:

8: wake up, cheerios (she will snack from her bowl on the floor all morning). Nurse

    11: nurse and nap

    12-1: have lunch - yogurt, cereal/baby food

    2ish: nurse

around 3-5 she will snack again. She will probably snack - nurse in here too.

6-7 dinner which consists of snacking off my plate.

    8: nurse

If she's still awake at 10 - nurse and bed.

  • DD eats lunch and dinner only, no snacks. She normally eats 5oz for lunch and 4oz for dinner, maybe a small number of puffs with lunch, and occasionally a very small amount of table food with dinner, like less than an ounce.

  • Lucia eats breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is about 5 or so hours between these meals, she eats when we do She has 3 to 4 bottles in there too. No snacks, unless we are eating one, which is rare. We will probably add in snacks when she stops her bottle, but for now if I give her snacks she refuses the bottle.
