I was looking at the pictures from Christmas. Man, do I look frumpy and tired. I just feel I have not really tried with my appearance since DD was born. I need to make some improvements so I feel better about myself. Any ideas for some quick pick me ups to help me feel better?
Re: Frumpy
Buy a new outfit
Get your hair done
Get a pedicure
Get your eyebrows done
Wear makeup every day, even if you don't want to
These are things that have helped me not fall into the frump trap.
i agree with all of this!
Good call. I work across the street from Sephora. I might schedule an appt to get my make up done.
I feel fancy after I do my nails. I usually use those Sally Hansen sticker ones that are easy to apply with no drying time.
Also just putting on some lip gloss or doing your hair differently (straightening it or curling it or putting it in a high pony tail if its always down) can make you feel better.
I am the queen of frumpy these days. In fact, I realized I have FIVE bathrobes and wear them all for different occasions...if I didn't have to leave the house I would seriously just switch up my robes throughout the day-HA!
If I have extra time, I'd rather work (I work from home), clean, or exercise BUT one of the things I did in the beginning that always made me feel better was curl my eyelashes and put on mascara. I have also found that when we do go out, I feel better when I wear something really tight rather than loose to conceal my extra baby weight, especially around the holidays since in pictures my loose tops just make me look fat!
I'm the queen of frump.
I am getting my hair cut (haven't since April 2010) and highlighted next week.
I'm also forcing myself to get a new outfit for ds's baptism on Sunday. I wish I could just wear sweatpants!
