Im sitting in the OB waiting room typing this. I just went back gave my urine sample, blood pressure, got weighed. When the weight came up she says "oh it must've been a good Christmas". Excuse me?!? I went up 2 pounds since I was here 4 weeks ago, for a grand total of 4 lbs gained at 18w tomorrow. Feeling totally self conscious now, thanks lady.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat. Not cool. A) Who doesn't gain weight over Christmas?? I think it's a scientific impossibility. Unless it is a health concern, why bring it up at all?? Every woman on the planet knows exactly how much weight she has gained between doctor appointments.

Maybe she meant it as a joke? Some people have terrible filters.

How did it come up with the weight? Maybe she was genuinely asking about Christmas and it just came across weird. Either way she probably meant it as a joke and if you only gained 2lbs I seriously wouldn't worry about it.

It was a digital scale. I dont think she was asking about my Christmas and she maybe was joking. Im aware how overly sensitive and irrational Im being but I was kinda proud that I had only gone up 4 pounds.

Obviously I didn't hear the tone, but I would hope it was more of a "OH! Must have been good" as in you didn't put on 20 lbs kind of thing? Be proud it was only 4! You are pregnant, I am happy on not pregnant years to only gain 4 over December.
