Clingy Baby ?

Ok, DS has never been super affectionate/cuddly.  Loves everyone - doesn't care who holds him. 

He's 10 months old and starting a couple of weeks ago he can be playing and having fun with DH but if he sees me he immediately starts bawling, putting his arms out (for me to pick him up) and crying mama mama.  Also, he'll crawl to the kitchen half crying-looking for me and climb up my leg and bawl until I pick him up.  I admit I secretly like it b/c with this he's become much cuddlier and puts his head on my shoulder and holds me tight.

My DH says that I'm ruining him by always picking him up etc, but I told him it's just a phase and he's only my baby once.  

What's everyone else's experience with their LOs becoming like this?  How long does it last?  Do you pick them up or let them fuss?
