Pumping...how long?

I ebf and am returning to work. Trying to figure out how much time ill need to pump while at work. When i pump at home, it seems to only take 5 to 10 minutes and then there is no more milk coming out. I read that a lot of you pump for 20 mins. If i pump longer will i get more milk?

I pump 15 minutes. It usually only takes 510 minutes to get all the milk but I pump for an extra 5 to make sure I keep up my supply. I pump at 930 1230 and 330

I pump for at least twenty, if not a little longer. If you pump for 2-5 minutes after the last drop of milk it is supposed to help maintain your supply. And sometimes, like PP, I will get a second letdown if I keep it going a little longer.

My LC has always told me it's more about the number of expressions per day, not necessarily the duration. If you want to increase output, try adding another pump or two throughout the day.
