Re: Year in Review
Hm. I think overall my marriage has become stronger. DH has accomplished tons professionally.
Worst thing that happened?
Coming to the realization that we are facing IF and my cp.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I'm emotionally weaker than I thought, but in the same way I'm stronger. I don't know how to explain it.
Any regrets?
I try to think everything happens for a reason and really try not to regret things.
Did you make a resolution last year? If so, did you stick to it?
I remember saying to myself that id either have a baby or be pregnant.
Will you make a resolution this year?
Not really a resolution but my main goal is to buy a house.
Overall how was 2012?
It was an emotionally hard year. I'm really glad 2012 is over and I get a new year to start fresh.
What do you most look forward to in 2013?
Starting our journey to parenthood either through IF treatment or adoption. We may not be parents in 2013, but we'll be closer. Also buying a house and hopefully starting back at school.

Worst thing that happened? I had lots of germs this year. (I teach first grade)
What did you learn about yourself? That it's okay to be happy and not worry about things going wrong.
Any regrets? Nope.
Did you make a resolution last year? If so, did you stick to it? Didn't make one.
Will you make a resolution this year? Probably not.
Overall how was 2012? Awesome!!
What do you most look forward to in 2013? Getting KU!
With the New Year just days away I thought it'd be fun to review 2012.
Best thing that happened this year?
My DH and I got married in June. Husband and I were also able to get jobs closer to home in our career fields in a time of economic hardship. We also moved into a nicer home.
Worst thing that happened?
In the months leading up to the wedding my husband's job wasn't bringing in enough money and we both had to pull together to make enough money to have the wedding of our dreams. I had to pick up coaching a sport I NEVER played before as well as homebound teaching and my husband had to deliver pizzas. It was VERY stressful and we didn't get to see each other but it was totally worth it. AND the Patriots lost the superbowl to the Giants...again.
What did you learn about yourself?
I am not meant to be a coach. I am helpful to a fault (meaning, people take advantage of that). I also care about other people's opinions a lot more than I thought I did.
Any regrets?
The fact that I care about other people's opinions of me. People that SHOULDN'T matter.
Did you make a resolution last year? If so, did you stick to it?
The only resolution was to fund our wedding. We stuck to it.
Will you make a resolution this year?
Yes: getting in shape and chipping away at our debt.
Overall how was 2012?
It was a wonderful year! The good outweighs the bad
What do you most look forward to in 2013?
Forging new friendships, rekindling old ones, and most importantly, having fun TTC! : )
Best thing that happened this year? Paid off the credit card debt
Worst thing that happened? DH was hit by a driver who fell asleep, totaling our paid-off car. However, I really like the escape we bought to replace it.
What did you learn about yourself? That I am stronger than I thought I was; also, that all of the obsessive stuff that I've done over the past few years was really just me running away from dealing with IF. This includes knitting, running, the music ministry I was involved with, and the number of hours I work to pay off our debt.
Any regrets? That we didn't start paying off CC debt when we first started talking about it in 2010.
Did you make a resolution last year? We resolved to get serious about getting out of debt. I also decided in late January that I would take up running; not sure if that counts since it wasn't decided prior to Jan 1.
If so, did you stick to it? Yes, although we still have a ways to go before we will be debt-free. I am in the middle of training for the OKC Memorial Marathon on April 28.
Will you make a resolution this year? I resolve to run a marathon this year, although it's been planned since October, so idk if that counts lol. I'm not sure what to do financially; we need to pay off a car loan, build an emergency fund, and start a house down-payment fund. However, working 70 hrs/week without a regular day off is wearing on me, and I think my husband is quietly upset that I'm never home. Quitting will mean it'll take us longer to reach our financial goals.
Overall how was 2012? Pretty great. Also, it was a blur. Isn't it still August?
What do you most look forward to in 2013? 10 years with DH, 5 of them married; paying off the car; having some financial security. I'd like to think we could get KU, but I'm not too optimistic about that happening without help.
Worst thing that happened? Out of the 5 years we've been together, this one was the toughest. We had a communication breakdown and almost lost our marriage as a result of it.
What did you learn about yourself? That I'm a lot stronger than I thought I was, and don't need to be so dependent on others.
Any regrets? Hurting my DH, letting our relationship go down the wrong road.
Did you make a resolution last year? If so, did you stick to it? I think it had to do with becoming healthier, and I think I've done a decent job at sticking to it. We don't eat fast food as often, I don't drink any soda, and I try to make as many fresh, homemade meals as possible.
Will you make a resolution this year? Yes, hopefully we will become pregnant at some point this year
Overall how was 2012? It was pretty rough, but I have a very good feeling about 2013 and am really looking forward to a new year
What do you most look forward to in 2013? Hopefully a healthy pregnancy, plus we have a couple really fun vacations I'm so excited to go on, we haven't had a real vacation since our honeymoon
Best thing that happened this year? - I created Aidan's Book Corner in my son's memory
Worst thing that happened?-Nothing. After losing Aidan, there is no other "worst".
What did you learn about yourself? I can follow through with something. Any regrets? Nope
Did you make a resolution last year? To lose weight If so, did you stick to it? Yup, I've lost over 35 lbs
Will you make a resolution this year? Yes, to get our house ready to be put on the market
Overall how was 2012? It was great
What do you most look forward to in 2013? Hopefully getting pg again and watching Lucas grow. Also the continued growth of Aidan's Book Corner
