5 Steps!
He was wearing a pair of compression shorts, which look like cycling shorts. It was the first time we tried them. He took 5 steps unassisted! It will still be a long while before he is actually walking, but he took steps! I cried. You guys, he is really gonna walk some day! Take THAT naysayers!
::Throws confetti::
Re: AW: DS took steps at physical therapy today!
That is so great! Did you get it on camera? What a special moment!
And since I'm a mushy mess tonight, I just started crying.
He was prenatally diagnosed with multiple brain malformations and abnormalities. He was given very little chance to survive outside of the womb and expected to have severe developmental delays (no walking, no talking, void of emotions, etc...). Only 3% of babies born with one of his diagnoses survive. He is defying all odds and surprising his specialists with his awesomeness!
Thanks for the love and support, everyone. It still means so much to me that you all care about Ian.

I don't know yet. The pt said she wants to try a tighter pair next week and go from there. She thinks the shorts helped his brain realize where his body was in space and allowed him to move all the body parts at the same time for walking make sense?. I am pretty are we can get them for home, but not sure if that's the route they want to go. We are trying to find a balance between just enough support and too much. So, we'll see. But I will definitely have a camera ready for next time!
Bumping from phone. Sorry for typos.
Tuna, you have no idea how happy I am for you
Way to go Ian!!!!
