OB/GYN reccomendation for Texas Children's Pavilion

Hello!

I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and have been seeing another doctor NOT affiliated with Texas Children's Pavilion (ins issues before but now that I got my ins fixed I can go to TCH pavilion).  I would really like to deliver at TCH Pavilion, but need some recommendation for OB/GYN doctor.

 Thanks!

  • Thanks for recommending Dr. Susan Shi.  I did see her name on the TCH website.  have you delivered at TCH pavilion before? PM me if you would prefer.
  • I have not delivered with her yet...this will be God willing my first baby if everything works out well this go around. Dr. Bob is a very highly reknowned high risk obsetrician and has trained many doctors here in Houston.  For him to recommend Dr. Shi out of everyone speaks volumes Smile

Dr. Carpenter is my MFM and he's fantastic. I feel so lucky to have seen him throughout my pregnancy and he really is a world class practitioner. How great that he's your uncle in law!

OP, my OB is Dr. Damla Dryden (trained under Dr. C, who you hopefully won't need a consult with) in the Women's Specialists of Houston practice. Their offices are located on the 15th floor of the Pavillion. I have had a great experience with her and I say that as a very high maintenance patient!  I will deliver at the Pavillion sometime in the next two months and have taken the tour and its a really incredible hospital. I don't know why anyone would deliver anywhere else. It's worth it to switch!

  • I saw Dr. Bobo at Women's Specialists throughout my pregnancy, and really liked her. When I delivered at TCH, Dr. Bobo was unable to be there due to a family emergency, so Dr. Dryden (mentioned above) delivered my daughter. I loved her too and had a great birth experience with her. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the doctors or TCH!

  • @ellybecks. I Private messaged you!  thanks! =)
  • Dr. Ortique with Women's Specialist of Houston is also great! She wasn't available when I delivered (water broke spontaneously) and Dr. Zepeda did my C-section for my breech baby. He was wonderful!

  • My older sister and I both use Dr. Hillary Boswell, she studied under Dr. Dryden, and is an awesome Dr. Both my sister and I have been using her for a good while now, she has performed 1 surgery on me, and now 3 on my older sister. Dr. Boswell is delivering my first baby on March 8th. :) Dr. Bobo assisted on my surgery and was my co-workers Dr. she is also really good.

  • I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and I am trying to find a new doctor. My original Doctor was through Texas Childrens and I still want to deliver there, but I was very uncomfortable with my doctor after my initial visit. This is my first child and I just want to make sure I am receiving the best possible care. I have read great things about Dr. Dryden and would love to see her, but I read that she is only taking new patients by referral right now. I'm getting more and more anxious about finding a good doctor and if there is anyway that I could use your name as a reference I would appreciate it more than you could know. I'm not sure if you'll even see this, but if you do you can PM me on here or send me an email at ka69625@gmail.com
