We haven't had this happen yet, but Elliots new thing is throwing himself back as hard as he can. He stands up on me all the time and if I don't hold him tight he'll do a freaking back bend on me. and he doesn't just stretch, he yanks back like he wants to do a flip.

Its amazing how strong they are. Ours is definitely an unhappy response.
He also pushes off me so I have to hold him precariously because apparently thats hilarious.
YUP...its starting here too...changing his diaper is becoming way challenging!
Oh yeah they're getting tough here to. Elliot will straighten his legs and flex so I can't get the diaper up between his legs, and then when I'm trying to fasten it he'll either A- push down and lift his butt in the air, to B- start trying to roll over on the changing table!

I was just telling DH that I don't really like that the whining and protesting has already started.
I was drinking tea the other day and DS was reaching for my mug. I did the whole "no, no that's hot" thing, but I put it down and was walking away and DS threw a fit! He always does it when I redirect him when he's crawling toward something he can't have or could get hurt on. I am not looking foward to the day he can actively defy me!
Good, I thought I was alone on this one! They sure have opinions now.
Sometimes it is funny, like when she eats something she doesn;t like and goes pppppppppppfffffffffffffffffff. Other times it is plain annoying - as in diaper changes.

Same here! It is so hard when they a straighten their legs or b try to stuff his foot into his mouth.

DS was pitching a fit today when I was changing his diaper, and he totally reached over to grab my arm and stuff it in his mouth. He has no teeth yet, but it looked for all the world like he was trying to bite me!
