Pressure in upper belly area?

I've been having pressure-y movement in the top of my belly whenever my little man moves around. It's right under my boob-age area, lol. Does this mean he's breech, or is this normal? I haven't had any pressure down low :/ I plan on asking my doctor at my next appointment, but in the meantime I wanted to hear what you ladies though of this :)

Re: Pressure in upper belly area?

  • I once in a while get pressure there but its nothing to worry about. As my mom always tells me, "nothing is weird in pregnancy"

Those muscles contract when you give birth, to push baby out from the top. Its just your body's way of prepping you for birth.

  • I have the same sensation but my lady is head down so it doesn't necessarily mean breech! I had an US on Friday and they showed me that baby's head was right on top of the left part of my pelvic bone and her spine curved around my left side and her butt was right inbetween my rib cages under my breasts. Perhaps something similar for you? Now I know why I feel a big lump there sometimes!!

This. Except my ultrasound wasn't Friday. The big lump, or bum, moves from time to time. I attribute it to the baby stretching out and then curling up.

  • I had a day where my whole tummy felt tight - like I had been doing sit ups!  I drank lots of water and took some Tylenol.  It went away by bedtime.  I think it may have been how the baby was positioned or my uterus stretching.  It's happened again but I haven't worried too much about it.  It isn't painful...just tight feeling.
