NYE plans?

Anyone doing anything fun to ring in 2013? DH has to work both NYE and New Year's Day this year and no babysitter. I'm thinking maybe just a good meal and the countdown on TV. You?

Nope. Just going to bed. DD has been waking up a lot lately and I'm just exhausted. I wouldn't be any fun awake.

Our closest friends are all getting together for lobster, steaks and champagne. This sounds like something that I would LOVE to partake in about 4 months ago...but now the thought of lobster or steak or staying up until midnight sounds like hell. Obviously no champagne either. I will enjoy celebrating the new year though as it will be such an exciting one for all of us moms to be!

Not too much planned. I have to work until 9:30pm, and won't get home until 10:15ish.

My inlaws followed us back from their house yesterday (8 hrs away) to spend NY's with MH (I mean us). MH has also invited the neighbours over and bought all kinds of appetizers. Last year they just played Wii games all night, I don't know what the big plan is for this year.

I will probably celebrate Newfie new year when I get home and go to bed. (Newfie Newyear is celebrated with the Province of Newfoundland at 10:30 eastern time,midnight their time). Call me mrs. party pooper, but I don't remember the last time I was awake past 10pm, let alone midnight.

Our best friends have a 4-week-old baby, so we'll probably go over to their house for a low-key night. If we all fall asleep before midnight, at least the odds are good the baby will wake us up

Also, my MIL gave me a bottle of Fre bubbly, so we'll pop that for our midnight (or 9pm, depending on how the night goes) toast. I've had the Fre merlot, which is a little juice-like but drinkable; hoping the brut is passable as well.

DH is working until 6pm on NYE, but he's off the next day. Honestly, we've been going to bed so early these days (before 10pm), I doubt we'll even stay up to watch the ball drop! We'll probably order some kind of takeout.

We're going out to dinner and then bowling with my brother and his gf. I am happy to go out since it will last our last for a while likely, but I am too tired and of course not drinking to think about actually partying. So dinner and bowling (and home by 12:15) sounds like just my speed.

MH is working overnight, so we're doing a fancy pants dinne on New Year's Day. I think we're doing lobster and mussels!!!

One of DH's friends is coming with his family. They've got a 4 month old and a 2 year old. I have no idea how late they plan on staying. I'd be surprised if they lasted until Midnight with the kids but it'll be a very low key night now matter what.

Going over to a house party with friends from college. Should be low key and just catching up and eating snacks. I did buy the champagne for a toast. The hostess has been trying to get pregnant for over a year with no luck so I want to avoid any and every baby discussion that evening so will tell everyone I'm the DD.

DH and I are doing dinner with friends, and then coming back to our apartment. I'm a little annoyed with DH though, because we are moving on the 2nd but he asked for the cable to be cancelled on the 31st! So I don't know if we'll be able to watch the countdown on tv! Oh well...

During the day we will be celebrating our oldest daughter's 5th Birthday with a trip to the local Children's Museum, a paddle boat ride, and lunch out of all places... Hooters, her choice because the waitresses sing and dance for her. Take out in the evening and probably falling asleep on the couch before 10pm.

I was going to go to a party with my parents. Just a low key thing their friends throw every year with board games and some chit chat. I'm separated from H and don't really want to go to the party at the bar in town so I figured I'd tag along with them. But then we got an email that the hosts are both sick and it was cancelled. So, instead, we will go out to dinner and then head home and probably go to bed early.

Our local aquarium is having a family-friendly party from 5-8 with a dance party, fake countdown and fireworks on the river. We are taking the kids to that, then we'll come home, put them to bed and have a nice dinner here and just veg out the rest of the night

Well since the Fiance and I are sick we will probably order take out for the whole family, Get some sparkling cider and a drink that both my mom and him like, Wedding cookies because they are awesome and a shrimp ring. Go home and watch movies play cards and just go to bed at a decent hour.

My husband and I are both sick with a bad cold, plus we don't have a babysitter for our 2 year old, and considering I usually pass out by 9pm anyway, we will just have a low key night as well! I bought some frozen appies, which I've dubbed as "tappas," and I'll have some sparkling cider. I'm probably going to take a long nap before midnight, but I'll set the alarm to ring in the new year. My how things have changed!

Unfortunately I am not looking forward to this New Year's Eve. We are going to our friends' house for New Years and everyone there will be partying. I don't mind being there for a little while but then as people start getting drunk, it gets really old. My husband wants to stay out late and hang out with our friends and we have another couple staying with us. I will end up being the DD and they will probably keep me up super late being drunk and loud. I get really upset because I am so extremely tired and I want to have fun with our friends but everything they do centers around drinking and that is not fun for me at all. I feel like I need to find some friends who have grown up a little more and are settled down. I've been feeling like somewhat of a loner lately because I just stay in by myself and go to bed at 8. I have to take care of me and baby and think of what is best for us. Sorry so negative!!
