Face flat in the mattress

TOH....

LO has been sleeping in his crib with two wakeful periods....one at 2am and the other at 4am. We get however no sleep because his new thing is face down in the mattress. That's right ladies.... turns himself over with paci in the mouth and buries his face in the mattress. Any advice? Any one else's baby doing this?

My little one has been in a "nuzzling" phase lately too! It scares the sh!t out of me! I'll wake up to check on her and she'll be in the process of smushing and rubbing her face all over the mattress. If I'm holding her and she's falling asleep she'll grab my shirt and rub it all over her face too. I hope she outgrows this soon cause it's giving mama heart failure!

My DD does the same. I've gotten used to it.

Yes, I stare at him because its constant.... I put him down and he turns on his side first... then turns over and does a face plant in the bed... its scary!

DD does this too. I asked her ped if we should keep turning her head and she said no, it's the way she likes to sleep. Finally last night we let her sleep like that because we have an angel are monitor we just set up and she slept really well. She constantly runs things on her face when she is tired. The ped said its a phase at this age and it will pass.
