So excited! We announced over Christmas that we are having a girl! So today I went to BRU started our registry. My SIL is in town for the holidays and I wanted her to have the chance to come with me and help pick out all the small stuff. I'm a STM but it's been 8 yrs LOL I needed someone with younger ones to help refresh my memory. I'm going back next weekend with my hubby to do all the big stuff.
Anyways, my question is who prefers doing more then one registry and why. I'm stuck on just doing one at BRU so its simple for me. Plus BRU has everything in one spot.

Re: registering at more then one place?
I like Buy Buy Baby too, that's where my husband wanted to register. He liked their selection better. But are out of state fam and friends able to easily purchase on line from Buy Buy Baby?
We registered at Target and BRU.
We were just going to register at one place but we got a $20 GC when we registered at Target so we did it there and then hubby decided he wanted to register at BRU. So, of course we had to do it there too. *sigh*
We registered for a lot of our more expensive and hard to find items on amazon, since the prices are lower than stores and they have some rare stuff.
Then, we registered at Buy Buy Baby for the majority of our necessities (clothes, safety supplies, etc.) Both our families really like to buy there in store, so we figured this would allow them to have some fun shopping.
We also registered for some supplies and items at Target, mostly daily things like Burts Bees lotions and bottles. This is where a lot of our friends shop.
Even though we didn't plan to, we have two items on a registry at BRU. The breast pump I want and the bath tub we like aren't available anywhere else. We're only sharing this registry with my mom, since she planned to buy us those items anyway.
We considered cost and our shower guests when building our registries. Most of our family and friends will want to buy in store, so BBB and Target will give them some options (there is only one BBB near us and out of state friends/family can still visit Target - which was where we registered for our wedding.) The amazon site is great for friends and family who are a little more tech savvy (86 year old g-ma is not going to be ordering online!) or plan to purchase the more expensive stuff (my MIL can save $150 on the stroller and carseat she would like to buy for us!).
I don't see a problem with giving people more options, but keeping track of the items to ensure the lists don't overlap could be tough. The way we see it, if people choose to purchase from our registry (since registries are just suggested wishlists, and not everyone will use them) we already did the price comparisons and browsing for them. lol
We are doing Babies R Us and Amazon. I LOVE Amazon - we also did one of our wedding registries there when we got married a couple years ago. It's nice because they have a "universal registry" button so you can put anything from any website on there, not just what Amazon sells. Plus I found their prices to be cheaper on things like carseats, etc. So I went to Babies R Us to see the car seat in person, then registered for it on Amazon.
i have family that lives all over and they don't all have the same stores where they live. many prefer shopping in person over online, too (not to mention many items end up available only in store or online). so, i registered at multiple places.
with this being our 2nd one and not as far apart as you, we aren't registering for anything this go around, unless we get a lot of fussing from the family. they will just gift us with what they do and we will keep or trade it in.
Depending on out of town family and friends and what stores are available to them, some people register at more than one place. I had to do that. And there is variety in items/designs/etc between different stores.
If none of that applies to you, that's great! It makes things easier for you!
