Similac Sensitive Help

LO has been on SS for a little over 6 weeks full time. He also has silent reflux but is on meds for that which seem to be working. My issue is he is extremely fussy constantly and gassy to the point where he screams and cries when trying to pass gas. I literally have to hold him from about 4am-7am to help him pass gas while he tries to sleep. I have been wanting to switch to another formula in case this is the issue. Anyone have experience with SS or Enfamil Gentlease? I have also heard of Gerber Gentle and Soothe. Any experiences would be helpful. Pedi suggested trying Soy but I am hesitant since he is a boy and I heard it can constipate. If others are using soy though I would love to hear your experiences! Thank you so much! I just want him to feel better. I could care less if he has gas, but since it's painful I just can't take it much longer.

We use SS also, and LO is on Zantac for reflux. I put gas drops in his bottles to help with gas pain and it seems to help.

Gas drops don't help us at all

I have even stirred the formula instead of shaking to try to not form bubbles.

Yeah SS bubbles like crazy... I hope you can figure something out

I would love to hear responses about soy too. SS made my LO scream in pain from gas/constipation too and gas drops rarely worked for her. We switched to Advance and added in a probiotic approved by pedi which helped the gassiness problem but now she is spitting up all the time; even after keeping her upright for about 15 minutes she will still spit up 30 minutes later. We have 2 month appt with pedi this week to see what he suggests.

I would try switching brands. I've heard good things about all of them, I think it just depends on the baby. Good luck, hope his gassiness gets better.

I know this sounds weird, but we had this issue with SS. LO had such bad reactions to it so we switched to similac advanced and have had absolutely no issues since then. I say try a few different ones until you find one that works. Good luck!
