Homemade baby food

Anyone make their own baby food? Is there a group on Facebook anyone uses to connect with other food makers?

Re: Homemade baby food

  • I am mostly making mine. I have been referring to wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com for some ideas. But basically, I am just doing my own stuff.

  • I've been making my own food for DS since he was 4 months. I was gifted with the Baby Bullet, so I just use their little cookbook as a guideline.

Yup, same here.  Although, I do sometimes use earths best organic baby foods just cause sometimes its hard to get a variety of fresh organic stuff in the winter.

  • Just doing my own here... things like making oatmeal and pureeing it in my mini-blender with breast milk.   I have banana, green beans and sweet potato (all pureed with breast milk) in the freezer.  I just froze them in an ice cube tray and popped them into freezer bags when they were frozen.  I make oatmeal a few times a week and keep it in a mason jar (small one) in fridge.

I tried pureeing meat but couldn't get the consistency as smooth as I would have liked.

  • I use the baby bullet to make my own baby food. So far I've made avocado, sweet potato, and bananas. I will make butternut squash next.

I use the Baby Bullet and their cookbook also.  I really like it.  On days when we are traveling, I buy Earth's Best in jars.

  • I make DS's food but I do have a few store bought jars to take with us if we are out. I just grab some fruits and Veges at the store and mix some. I also have a few things pinned on Pinterest for ideas. I haven't gotten crazy yet avocados, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears, apples and just do plain ones and then also I have a few vege fruit mixtures like peas and pears or sweet potatoes and apples.
