Oh DH... bless his heart NBR

DH has been in the bathroom with DS1 for over a half hour now pulling out every trick in the book to get him to go on the potty. DS1 is sitting on the potty, but he refuses to do anything, and he's refused to do anything on the potty every time we've tried (we've been trying for at least 5 months on and off- mostly just to get him used to it in the beginning, but then we started making it a routine before bed.)

DH is off today through Tuesday so since the holiday travel is over, we decided we're going all out and going to potty train DS1! God help us, but it needs to be done. I'm so over diapering a toddler who very much understands the potty concept and is just being stubborn.

We've got M&Ms, books, and chinese flash cards as ammo. Hopefully this just clicks for DS1 soon! DH is completely awesome though about helping and I'm optimistic we can get this done together.

    My aunt is the official potty trainer at the daycare she works at. She says use no diapers or pull ups .. Just undies. It might be messy but usually only takes a couple days. Put them on the potty every 15-20 minutes but don't pressure them ... Let them sit a couple minutes then get up whether they've gone or not. Good luck.

    Good luck! The only advice I have is every time my niece did anything on the toilet, the whole house cheered her on and sang and made it a really big deal. This went on until she was completely trained. She loved it!

    Lol! She was once outraged that she didn't get a candy or grape for farting on the toilet!

    Did you try Cheerios or fruit loops in the toilet for targets or blue toilet wAter so you can pee and turn it green. Also my mil swears by going to the mall and checking out all the bathrooms in the department stores.
